More Scraping and New Coilovers Are Here!

An update on what is going on with the PRRS. Took a trip out to Placar / Jackson Rally again recently to do what i could on the car to help things along. This trip was mostly scraping and wirebrushing metal, getting things ready for roll cage plates. Read on for some beautiful shots of our new gravel coilovers.

Scraping the front strut tops. The goo in the seams needs to scraped out as much as possible because when the plates are welded to the frame it heats up in there and apparently this is bad :( Manual scraping…

Lots more work to be done near the bottom of the B and A pillars. There is still quite a bit of material under the fuel lines that needs to be removed, but this is a pretty good start.

Still waiting for the day that this car starts looking like an actual off-road performance machine, and not just a junkyard beater…

These coilovers are the result of a lot of hard work and R&D from Barrett Dash and All Wheels Driven (located in Bend, OR) This exact setup has brought many podium finishes on both PGT and Open class GC and GD Imprezas. Built from Bilstein 40mm struts and H&R springs, they are fricken badass. Spring rates for the ones i got are 250F/200R. Heres the low down on the kit:

Introducing the All Wheels Driven gravel coilover suspension. Tested and proven on our Open Class rally car prior to going on sale to the public. This system was designed as a good club level rally suspension to bridge the gap between OEM suspension and higher priced gravel dampers. We’ve worked closely with our sponsors, Bilstein and H&R to get one of the strongest and best performing gravel systems out there for the money. Our bodies are custom machined, bored, threaded, and then powdercoated (to keep them lasting) your choice of color. All of our spring perches and locknuts are cnc’d aluminium. The mounting ears and gussets are laser cut then TIG welded to the bodies. All struts are test fit prior to welding to insure proper fitament and clearance. We’ve dialed in the valving numbers and spring rates for you during our R&D. This system has been run with good stage results on many models of Subaru Legacies, Imprezas, and WRXs that we’ve built for our clients. As with any type of gravel coilover, it’s a good idea to thourougly inspect and cycle all of your suspension in between events. This will keep your suspension working properly and avoid unneccesary wear to your inserts and bushings.

Heres some pictures of them.
