HRH was on a Royal visit to Banbury with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and had requested to visit Prodrive and the Subaru World Rally Team, where he was given a tour of the facility by Chairman and SWRT Principal David Richards. There he met Solberg in the team’s Heritage Centre, the three sharing their love of vehicles of historical significance such as Colin McRae’s 1996 Subaru Impreza and Richard Burns’ 2001 Impreza.

HM The Queen last visited Banbury in 1959, and the Royal procession returned today in what is Banbury’s 400th Charter year, meaning it has been a mayoral town for 400 years. The Charter was first granted to the town in 1608 by King James I.
