Rallitek Sponsored Safe Drives Rally Team Finishes First in Class at Doo Wop Rally

Many thanks to each of my team volunteers and team sponsors for your help this past weekend, without your help the rally would not have gone well.

To sum up, we had a good overall weekend. This was a two day regional rally with each day of the rally scored as a separate event. On Saturdays rally, Doo Wop 1, our team finished 1st in G5 class, 1st in two wheel drive and 5th overall! On Sundays rally, Doo Wop 2, we were headed for a similar result but that finish eluded us. We had a turbo charger failure, which lead to a small fire that ended our day early.

Mike Milos did a fine job as Co-Driver in the “Scare Chair”.

Matt Weaver led the service crew well. I heard from Matt that Ray and Dan pulled their weight very much over the weekend. These guys worked hard to make sure the team car was ready with fresh tires, nuts and bolts were tight and safe, that there was no major damage Saturday night and the in car members of the team were fed and watered. These guys deserve a separate thank you because this weekend was cold with snow, rain, hail and sunshine all within a five minute rotation. THANK YOU!!!

Teresa (my wife) kindly reminded me that Sean Sexton at Rallitek had forewarned us that the rally cars turbo was on its last legs in December. Apparently I conveniently forgot about this…

The car received very little damage upon initial inspection. I will begin the tear down and re-prep this week. I’ll have the final tally of the rally damage soon. But, the fire damage was very close to zero.

I hope to have some video up on our Youtube channel by the end of the week.
