Max Christensen wins on bumpy KDAK Rally of Danish Championship

The reigning Danish champion, Max Christensen of Subaru Motorsport Denmark had defended his position in the Danish rally championship 2009 after a long summer brake when he won the round 3 of Danish Rally Championship, “FTZ KDAK Rally” which was held on 5 September in his Subaru Impreza WRX Sti.

It is really a fun and compact rally with major challenges with extremely fast stage. It is very important to make precious pace note to keep competitive pace.

“We have a small disadvantage to our nearest competitors because our weight is heavier in the group N. “ said co-driver Dorthe Ravn. Midway through the rally, Christensen built a strategic lead of 10 seconds to the nearest rival. However, before the 3 final stages, the lead from Peugeot 207 Super 2000 was shrunk to small 3 seconds.

“Fortunately, our tactic gave fully paid off,” notes Ravn. “The last 3 stages were the most challenging in the rally, and stages times were extremely close, because we also put on extra speed. For the last 32 km stages, our strategy was to extend our lead with 3 tenths of seconds. The eventual result was an impressive victory with 3.2 second lead.”

Overall and class victory meant that Subaru Motorsport Denmark now is leading the Danish Championship with 8 points.

Next round of the Danish Championship is in late September around Roskilde. Team’s TMR built Subaru Impreza WRX STI is no problem, and is looking forward to next round of the championship where the stages are faster and more flat said Max Christensen with a smile.
