Ketomaa/Teiskonen and Subaru Triple Champions in Finland

2009 Finnish Rally championship series completed by its final round “Finnsco Rally” which was held from 26-27 September in Hyvinkaa area with two-day event on fast gravel roads. After seven rounds this season was full of success for Subaru Dealer Team Finland.

Already in previous round Subaru crew Jari Ketomaa and Miika Teiskonen did achieve Drivers and Co-drivers titles, but in the last event of the season there was still one title to fight. Subaru has been leading Team championship series from second round and it was favourite to take the title. Team had 21 point lead so all they really needed was to get one of their two nominated drivers, Ketomaa or Teemu Arminen to the finish.

After 19 stages Ketomaa did finish safely in second place as Juha Salo won 30,4 seconds in front of Ketomaa. Although he made huge gap to third-placed Janne Tuohino as it was more than one minutes and a half.

“After four victories we concentrated to secure the titles in the last two rallies. That is why we had to drive with good speed and good tactics”, told Ketomaa. “Personally, I’m very happy for the results and titles, because they were the first ones for Subaru. We started interesting project with new Impreza and now we have get best possible results.”

Subaru Dealer Team Finland won Team championship with 112 - 95 in front of Team Mitsubishi Ralliart Finland.
“To get all three titles this is very important for Subaru and TMR. Of course we are very satisfied with the performance of the car and the drivers”, said TMR managing director Esko Reiners.
