Default From broke to Bangin

HI,
I'm back! been gone for a while, so here's a little bit of what's been happening in the life of me...
Quit school after three years, worked for the steel workers union painting pre-cast concrete outhouses, got laid off for the winter and decided to be a lifty (greatest phuggin 5 months of my life!), spring rolled around and no callback from the union = 1 broke muhfugga... mid summer my grandpa died so I moved to Eastern Montana to help out my grandmother and ended up finding work in the oil patch = not so brokeded anymore!!!

I have a PSM 2005 2.5RS:
fiberglass wrapped Borla Replica Header
K&N OEM replacement filter
555 Open Source Tune
Dark Performance 'Super-wide' mudflaps
DIY Snorkus Delete
Custom red Painted Grille
White painted OEM wheels
Debadged trunk
Blacked out tails
Red Interior Trim (gonna flock that **** at some point)
Rallitek front Shifter Bushings
Torque solutions rear shifter bushing
whiteline 22mm front sway bar
whiteline subframe lockdown bolts
whiteline steering rack bushings
whiteline rear diff support lock bushings
Kartboy solid front and rear endlinks
rallitek plug wires
8mm phenolic intake spacers (grimmspeed)
exedy stage one organic clutch
ACL race main & rod bearings
whiteline positive shift bushings
perrin LCP
04 STi Pink Struts/springs
white Flossy weighted shift knob
Pioneer bluetooth head unit
Cell signal booster
Weather tech all weather floor mats
Enkei RPF1 5x100 18x8.5 wrapped in Hankook Ventus Evo V12s
Primitive Light bar, home to a set of Hella Rallye 1000 Black Magics and a set of PIAA 520 Ion Crystal fogs

I picked up a '79 BRAT that will get the engine & tranny out of the impreza, the Impreza will in turn be getting a forged, stroked ej205 running a Painless style V-mount system with a big Comp Turbo running on adaptronics engine management mated to a dccd 6mt that will eventually be swapped for a close ratio sequential dog-box

I also picked up a 78 1400DL wagon that will get an ea81/2T

crank pully isn't really any sort of gain in pefromance... and IMO the mishimoto radiator is better... other then that it sounds like you have a good list going

crank pulley is ok, but a lightened flywheel would be better,
from what i hear (i keep hearing contradicting opinions) the stock crank pulley is heavy for a reason, its also called a harmonic balancer for a reason lol. so i say keep the crank pulley stock and get a lightened flywheel, you will lose more weight off the drive system than you would with the LCP, and i havent heard anything bad about doing it.

good luck with the build!

ok, so i've decided that since it is the start of yet another year of college, i'm going to spend my free time working on DIY projects for Willow

starting with:

Home built radiator shroud (there is a great NASIOC writeup on this)
Changing the Guage pod, key ring, HVAC and radio from green to red always wanted to do this and i found a really good writeup on NASIOC so i'm going to go for it
then going for a DIY rear diffuser that a fellow BSS member is also trying
and a cheap temporary oil pan skit plate out of the stock plate from an '85 suby wagon!

While the pulley might not be worth whp/tq, some folks like a quicker-revving engine. Swapping a crank pulley is much less involved than a flywheel. If you're doing the clutch anyway, do the flywheel. If not, consider the pulley.

Wrong. It is better to leave recommendations to those who know what they're talking about. SoA has confirmed the crank pulley is not a harmonic balancer.

ok so if the crank pulley is not in fact a harmonic balancer, i'm going to re-add that to the list of definite to-dos!

Thanks Paul! (I assume you're the same Paul from BSS?)

Update, i am working on cutting out the shroud, but the aluminum likes to eat my dremel bits :(
