Final Meet/Cruise Checklist Thingy
Thanks Zach

¨Meet
§ All of the information regarding the meeting location and time, the route map, the list of attending members, etc. is listed on the first post of this thread.
§ There may be a Bar-B-Q in Castle Rock and/or Colorado Springs after the cruise, we’ll play it by ear. There will also be some cruising in C. Springs Saturday night.
§ I have a place to stay for any out-of-towners wanting to come in to C. Springs Friday night or stay Saturday night.
§ Make sure your car is registered (Renegade) and you have insurance and driver’s license. We definitely don’t want to get hassled by the man.
§ DO NOT rev/blow-off in the K-Mart parking lot or in town at all. Once we get up in the mountains feel free to let her rip!
§ These rules are for everyone’s safety and enjoyment. We want to show the community that we are a responsible car club.
¨ Car
§ The route is well graded gravel with very few rocks, potholes, or ruts, but you will want all-seasons, snow, or gravel tires.
§ Cars with large diameter rims will be able to make it, but with any off-road driving smaller wheels and larger tires is always a good idea.
§ Check tire pressures, fluids, etc., which I’m sure we all do every week, right? Roadside repairs are done in Stage Rally, not at a meet and cruise.
¨ Safety
§ I will be bringing my roadside emergency kit (tire inflator, tow chains, jumper cables, fix a flat, fire extinguisher, etc.) just in case.
§ Again please keep it very calm and collected on the paved roads thru town and up the pass to Woodland Park.
§ Once on dirt roads we can be a bit louder and let loose a bit, but there are blind corners, and parking spots off the edge of the road. Watch for loose dogs and kids on the side of the road.
¨ Media
§ Bring your cameras, mounts, video recorders, tripods, memory cards, etc. I want to make a DI meet video that rivals the original DI meets in California.
§ We’ll figure out a central location for all the data so we can all dump our pictures and videos to one place.
§ If you have walkie talkies, bring them.
§ Obviously with any electronic equipment, make sure they’re fully charged or that you have fresh batteries.
¨ Personal
§ Food, water, sunscreen, etc. We will be up in the mountains from approx. 11 am to 3 pm and there are no services up there…DUH.

Let’s show the world that we have a kick-ass Off-Road Impreza… errr… Subaru… errr… Vehicle…Community.

I'll definitely be going again. Sign me up Bubba. I'll be bringing the beat up Zx2

BTW: Make me a map from Canon City to the initial meeting area. Haven't been to Springs in awhile other than passing through to get to Denver.

Thanks Bubba for changing the date on the meet I hope to not disappoint. My new toy should be ready by then hopefully with help from some local Springs people. I have a few engine maintenance issues to take care of. If not the new hotness I will have the RS out there any way.

sweet. I am obviously in for this.

Bubba, I will probably do a run before hand just to check the route. If there is a big clearing somewhere, it may be worthwhile to stop somewhere along the way to regroup.

And I dont know what I am getting myself into, but we can probably still meet up at my place in Castle Rock for BBQ, beer, Dirt 2..etc.

Yeah that would be a good idea cause I haven't been on that part of the road... And it was your idea to take that route... did you check the map I think I got it right when I re did it... There may happen to be alot of people that are coming on this cruise... who knows though... And we usually stop here and there anyway because there are a few of us that end up pulling away from everyone some in the middle and some in the back driving like 90 year old grannies in model T's (cory) im not going to mention any names here... We will see what happens... its a few months out anyway but I wanted to start getting it going now instead of like our last few with just a weeks notice...

That two weeks of notice though brought more people than any other meet

Haha, are you giving me credit for the route...or blaming me?
You did get the route correct, and one cool thing about it is that most GPS units have it, I know my Garmin does anyway. So that should make it easy for other folks that have GPS.

I wish I could go run it this weekend!! Damn snow!

And im still down for a BBQ type thing at my place afterwards.

I'll definitely have to find our GPS for this to make things run smoother on my end.

If we do indeed have a BBQ type thing at your place. Would you want us to bring anything possibly. Like for games or something I guess. I don't know. Just trying to get some ideas so we have this meet 100% spot on ready.
