Default PNW Rallycross? I just want to race!

This is an x-post from my thread on Nasioc. You can reply here but there might be a quicker response to any questions/comments on that forum.

Just wanted to post a question to the general community about this. I did Paul Eklund's Rally-X school back in 2010 and loved it. However I couldn't find the time off of work to go back and forth to Portland (alright, Hillsboro) and be part of more events. However I no longer work at that aforementioned job and want to race! My helmet has been sitting on my bookshelf gathering dust.

Are there any planned Rally-X events in the PNW area planned this year? If so, where? I know about Dirtfish, but that's more of a school and I'm just interested in having fun on the course by myself. I've been scouring both Paul Eklund's website, the SCCA national & Regional pages, as well as the Oregon Rally Group's website, and haven't been able to find much of anything. I've even sent an email to Paul and he said that "Plans are being discussed".

If anything, If I could have some help, I would be willing to put the time and effort into creating a Washington based Rally-X group (as far as I'm aware, one doesn't exist). I'm sure that there are a TON of people in our state that would love to come drive some sense into there cars. Not just Subaru, of course. The only logistical concerns I would have about that would be land availability and insurance. But if everyone who participated chipped in, could it be done?

At the convention last week I heard someone from the NorthWest region say they were currently without venue. Which explains the silence, without a venue, no other planning can really be done.

our local Spokane Suby Club is going to be working hard to get some Spokane Rally-X events put together this summer, either through ASNW or privately at the Airway Heights MX park

i too, would dedicate time and effort to make this happen. i want a safe & legit place to rally-x. competition is a blast!!
i'm up north in marysville, i have a couple small fun spots that you can hit a time or two, but then its time to move on.

my wife is going to put me in touch with her friend who knows someone in promotions at the TULALIP CASINO. hopefully, they will be a motorsports enthusiast!!

this would be a GREAT place to host an event(s). they have a great open (dirt) area behind the casino that they have a sporadic flea market in. actually, for the locals; its where "BOOM-CITY" is set up each & every june/july.
this lot is only used a couple months out of the year, and not at all during the fall & winter. the casino could generate more income from a relatively unused piece of land, not so much from gate/entry fees, but from racers, spectators, family and friends and curious folks coming to and from the casino and the outlet mall. people would go eat, drink and gamble there during a days racing. plus, renting a conference room for after race festivities, racers and their families and friends overtaking the buffet line is all good for their business.

heres a link to the google map. the spot is the square-ish space on the left. there is a spot north that looks like a cool spot, but it has changed a lot in the past couple of months. not as rally-x friendly. fun and challenging, but it would need lots of "grooming" and not nearly as spectator -friendly as the other site.

i may not be the fastest, but i'll have the most fun!!

Default Potential RX venue for the NW

Racetrack is up and running now. Hopefully, they have some open field parking that could be used for a rallycross weekend occasionally. Looks like a great racing track. http://www.ridgemotorsportspark.com/

Thanks for posting this. It would sure be nice to get something running up north. I love the ORG series, but the 4 hour drive south and the fact they haven't found another venue yet is discouraging. PM sent.
