Some of you may remember that back in November I spun a rod bearing in my 2005 WRX Wagon while tearing it up at a RallyX event. One run after this video is when it happened..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QakmYUUHqs

:jack:

I got the car home thanks to a friend that was willing to come and pick me up with his Suburban and a car trailer. He was nice enough to drive the 4.5hrs one way to get me :headbang:...... I am very greatfull for that. A tow would have been a wallet breaker for sure!

Got it back to the shop and started to tear into it....

I am having Matt @ 555 Motorsports tune the car. So far I am on my first revision after the break in. The car now has at least 1,200 miles on it, and it runs freaking GREAT! This motor and turbo combo are lots of fun with a ton of power! I have a few other things to take car of on it and then it will be dyno tuned for optimum power and efficiency. My guess for numbers are around the 310hp 320ftlbs mark.

It's great to see your car back together and running.

I can't wait to hear and see this beast in person! Impressive build, sounds like it's going to be very reliable.

I just hope you don't come down for the Ohio rallycrosses... :P (but please do)

This car is officially RETIRED from rallyX. I can not afford to do this again, engine builds are not cheap! And since its my DD it only makes sense to retire it until it is no longer a DD. Don't worry though, I am trying to get my hands on a Impreza L. ;) I have a nice 2.0l engine laying around now to build for that.

Very impressive Ryan. I thought things were a bit too quiet, you had not posted in quite some time. This was a pretty speedy turn around all things considered. Very nice choice of internals too might add...

I can completely understand your wanting to keep the wagon out of the dirt now for good. Reliable power is a great thing to have, so get that L! You'll be itching for dirt in no time...

Enjoy the new found power!

dude this car is going to be very very cool. What are you going to be doing with this car? track it? or just a super awesome street car? Would be a shame to put all this money into a sick ride and then just cruise in it.

This thing is going to be wicked either way dude, going to be fun for whatever you want to do. AutoX maybe? not that harsh on the car

It is just going to be my daily driver. No more racing in it until it is paid for in full, and I have another car for a daily driver. It may be a waste of a good motor/car to some, but to me its just a cool car with some balls. This thing actually has so much low end torque that I am barely in boost around town. When I do decide to give it some throttle, it moves....QUICK :muhaha:....

I will be getting Grimmspeed's new 3-port EBCS here soon, and then its off to the dyno to get tuned. First though, Subaru needs to install the new rear differential that they just ordered for me. Gotta love powertrain warranty! :headbang:

This was my first Subaru motor build and I must say so far so good. These are kinda weird motors to tear down so this was definitely a good learning experience. Patience and research go a LONG way!

The tune went well, my predictions were very close! I got tuned at Komet Motorsports in St. Charles, Illinois by Matt from 555Motorsports on a Mustang Dyno. The final pass netted me 270hp and 309tq. I know, 270hp sounds low but remember this is a Mustang Dyno. I can take the car to the other 4wd dynos around here and put down anywhere from 320-340hp and 340-360tq. The car hauls ass plain and simple!
