Hi Everyone,
Safe Drives only sells tested and certified safety harnesses.
We have always been a rally team on a tight budget and we know a good deal when we see it. In fact, when we built our last rally car we put the Gforce 5 point Camlock harnesses in and we love them. For the money they cannot be beat. FIA Homologated means they are good for five years. Nice.
Here we offer the 5 point Gforce Camlock Harness for $149.95. (http://www.safedrives.com/proddetail.asp?prod=GF%2DC7000%2F7100&cat=52)

These are all made with newer "low stretch" poly based webbing with full 3 inch wide mounting hardware included.

We offer safety harnesses from;

All are available with FIA tags that are good for five years.
Please let me know if I can answer any questions.

I thought they were only good for 2 years so I went and checked the rules:
SFI licensed harness systems must have a date of manufacture label
that is no older than two years. FIA homologated harness systems must
have an expiration date no earlier than the current year (i.e., the restraint
system must not be expired). When the FIA expiration date is later than
the SFI expiration date, the FIA expiration date takes precedence.
Guess that's only for SFI!
That's good to know because I bought a set of these from you guys 2 years ago and I thought I was going to have to get a new one automatically, but I guess I can check the date and see if they're still good! I have the old ones that have the hip pads on the lap belts so they don't dig in, very nice, I wish they still had them.

Hi,
Gforce does not offer separate "For HANS use only" 2 inch wide shoulder belts. Infact I just double checked and they don't offer a "For HANS use only" 2 inch wide shoulder belt system at all.
You do know that HANS Device company says that 3" wide harness webbing is just fine? However as you have certainly found, the HANS Device tends to "creep" around under the belts. This is true of even the "For HANS use only" 2 inch wide shoulder belts that are available from Schroth and others. Watch the WRC or Dakar in car video for evidence of this problem. And you wondered why we don't offer HANS Device didn't you?
Honestly, your safest option is to sell that HANS Device and buy a R3 or even better, a Hybrid from Safe Drives LLC. We even have used units starting at $599 shipped. http://www.safedrives.com/products.asp?cat=82
The H&NR units that Safe Drives offer do not rely 100% on the shoulder belts for head restraint the way that the HANS Device and the DefNder Device do. I have personally used the R3 and Hybrid H&NR devices in my own rally car for over three seasons now and they are SAFE, COMFORTABLE and just waaaaaaay better, especially for Rally and Off Road racing than any other device. Period.

OK, thought there were more shoulder belt options out there.
Thanks for the info (and I'll be keeping the HANS). :)

Charles, when I bought my peltor helmet, it already had HANS posts installed....is there a way to make the R3 work with HANS posts?

Hi Eli,
Your welcome! FYI, your post inspired me to once again hang my neck out on SS.com... You may still want to think hard about your HANS Device based on the video evidence presented so far,

Yes, they are completely compatible in a couple of ways.
1) Remove HANS Post and install R3 / Hybrid D Ring Kit ($24.95 retail and included with device purchase). This is a one screw affair and is super easy.
2) Install HANS Device Tethers (Purchased from a HANS Device Dealer) onto your R3 / Hybrid.
That's it, either way you are golden.

These are great belts. I really like the Latch and Link belt and used in my stage rally Impreza as Driver for many events. I won my class using these belts... For $69.99 (http://safedrives.com/proddetail.asp?prod=GF%2D6000%2F6100&cat=52) they are a great value and I just replace them every other year.
Data has been shown that seat belt webbing degrades over time and exposure to atmosphere, sunlight, ect.. It's the same excellent webbing on all Gforce belts (and most other manufacturers as well.)
http://safedrives.com/prodimages/gforce/harness/gf5000_sm.jpg (http://safedrives.com/proddetail.asp?prod=GF%2D6000%2F6100&cat=52)
With stage rally it is especially important that we are diligent with our safety practices. All of our gear must be as safe as possible, mounted in the most ideal manner possible. With harnesses you want to keep the webbing short and the routing of webbing should be ideal for that occupant, not just meet the specified range of the rules or directions from SFI or the harness manufacturer. The only safety we have in rally cars is what we take with us. Make your safety system perfect for you and your co-driver. Give me a call if you have any questions. M-F 8am to 5:30 PM Pacific.
