So.. I pull my car into the garage, everything is fine. Go back to take it out and it won't start. The engine turns over and over and over but it won't fire. Sure enough the check engine light is on and then I notice a first; the fuel guage reads empty and the low fuel light is blinking. I check to see if there's a trouble code and there's nothing. Did a reset just in case and still won't fire.
No fuel leaks, never touched the fuel lines, and there's over a quarter tank of gas in there. My only conclusion is that the fuel pump is blown. Any ideas?

Also, I'd get a high pitch whine coming from the electric throttle after a couple tries to start no matter what position the key was in. It would stop if I undid the battery for a minute.

when you turn the key to the on position (not cranking) can you hear the fuel pump cycle?
if not, i'd check your fuses to start with and then the pump itself.
also, how sure are you that there is 1/4 tank in there? sounds stupid but i towed a buddies car home on night with a u-haul (figure cost of gas, u-haul tow dolly, and a fuel pressure gauge) only to find that his gauge was off and he actually had run out of gas.

as strat says chech for the pump cycle when you turn the key on,
as far as gas in the tank i can tell you how many gal i got on my tank based on my miles. i'm made a habit of constantly (every fill up) checking m/gal. so i know that on a full tank i can get 280-300 depending on driving so i always go with 280 lol.so when i hit 200 i start looking for good prices around my area. just a thought.

I'm glad my problems are just my own stupidity. The harness connector midway through the car just worked itself loose. :shootsself: I checked for the priming and that didn't happen. Checked every single fuse and they were fine. I wasn't sure where the relay was so I started tracing the wires back from the fuel pump. 3 feet later and I find a barely loose connector. Doh!!! Thanks guys and gals. She gets to drive another day.

all is well that ends well. Cheap fixes are the best!
I was worried about a noisy power steering problem... turns out the fluid was just really low after burping. :)
