Well, I figured I'd get some info here ready for the new year at Prairie City. I'll be getting dates out at Prairie City after the next PIG meeting. So I'll be coordinating dates with everyone that our events won't want to conflict with.

A side note regarding SCCA memberships, there are two types, weekend and full memberships. I'll be updating details regarding this as well. As it stands, weekend fees will be $10-$15 and full memberships run $75-$85.

A positive side note, I expect the entry fees to be only $35 and I've heard of some interesting incentives from other regions, particularly TN.

So no FRX / CRS events at PC huh?? That's too bad.

I hope this is not the case, where did you hear this?

If Brent so desires, he could still be included in one or both of those. FRX is just not going to be the financial backer of the event(s), thus they are not "FRX events". The bottom line is that the high EMT fee required by the venue pushed them into the red last year.

Congrats and thanks go to Brent for getting his local SCCA chapter or personally opening his wallet to back the venue.

FRX North will still have Vallejo, THill, Angels Camp whatever N/S shootout venue is arrived at as far as I know as of right now.

Brent has said that he'd like his events to be CRS and FRX points events which would give us enough CRS events to split the series into a NorCal and a SoCal series (very similar to what FRX has been doing).

The difference in PC from last year is that they won't be "FRX Charter" events (to my understanding) - FRX Charter events are run by FRX. The event will be for FRX NorCal points but run by Brent.

I'm very excited to have PC on the CRS calendar (as soon as he gets dates. . .hint hint! :D )

I certainly would be happy too. Also, I should get some info from you or someone from CRS regarding membership for those who want to join. I can't wait for an event, I've been practicing and am dying to get the new year started.

Ooops, sorry Mark for not responding to your post earlier. The fact is that the EMT did cost money, but it was never more than $320/8 hrs. add that to the site fee of 10% of gross income and the site fee+EMT was still cheaper than Vallejo or Antioch.

But, the FRX also paid sanction/insurance and gave you some $$$ as the "organizer fee". Either way, the FRX lost as the backers of PC last year at an average turnout of less than 40.

Glad to see you're going to be investing sweat equity into the venue to keep it going.

hoping to make all of these...Brent, since these are SCCA, is there contingency money?

BTW, I got your VM last night, I'll give you a call this afternoon. Also, I'm taking off today after work for Tahoe, and I have your Redline Oil w/me. (finally!)

No, there is only money for "National" events and even then, there is no Subie money in '09 (or at least none has been announced) - only VW and Team Dynamics are back:

Jon, thanks, I look forward to getting with you and I'll let you know the status of Subaru contingency money when I find out from Pego. Even if there isn't, I'll still be happy to go out and get my Subie dirty. How about you?

Mark, regarding the sanction and insurance, those are required at all locations. My question is how Thill could possibly make any money for FRX when they had half the turnout of PC? There is more to why PC was dropped than the lack of profitability, which I'm sure you're up to date about it. I'd be happy to tell you but let's leave this thread to the future not the past. Send me a pm for more info.

And of course I'm happy to put in all the work I have too, to make events happen. I love rallycross that much.

Let's take the FRX profitability discussion elsewhere - this thread should be about pimping for your PC events! :D

Yeah, let's leave it at that....

As I've said so far, I'm appreciative of your efforts in keeping any RallyX venue going.

Ok, new update, sorta, I've spoken with the PC people to find out what dates are available. I'll be getting what dates I can for this year. Right now I'd say the 1st two dates should be April 4th or 5th, May 2nd or 3rd. More dates will be added if we can get them. I'll post more info as I get it.

I took into account the number of Socal CRS dates and these are the best that don't fall on the same weekends. Maybe something will be added in June, it's not too hot usually.

Hey Brent - SWEET! Let me know when you've got those finalized and I'll put them on the CRS and FRX calendars!

Ok, so the first event at PC will be May 2-3. Two separate points days, so if you can only make one that'll be ok. The other could be a drop. I'll post more info after I return from the convention in Vegas. Good news, expect the entry fee to be $35.

BTW the best info I can add is I spoke to the "right" person at Prairie City and it looks like we will be able to get the initial course graded by the maintenance staff.

So scrape together the money for that weekend.

Good news on them scraping the course for us.

Very good news, now to just deal with between run groups. Also they'll be expanding the park in the future and we happened to get a meeting with the planning person who enjoyed hearing that we would love a flat open space.

I have the most horrible news. I will not be continuing to pursue rallycross events anymore. I have to reexamine my interest in everything related to playing with cars, due to circumstances beyond my control, I'd like to apologize to everyone who was looking forward to rallycross out at Prairie City, but I have no choice, which by the way also means I'll be selling my WRX and my STI.

If anyone is interested, you maybe able to take over the idea of keeping the program alive at PC.

Brent

I can help with putting on the pc events as a local contact. It is only 20 minutes away. The only thing I would have reservations about is setting up a course.
