my car has been lowered on adjustable coilovers, and i want to lift it to go play in the dirt.
i have the wrench, no i need a way to make sure i get everything even.
is there a special technique for this?
am i better off having a shop do it?

be sure to lift with your knees.

just kidding....seriously though, the 'technique' is simply to jack up your car, and incrementally raise the spring pearches on the coilovers. do it evenly on all 4 corners (use a ruler and some tape if that helps).
then if you want to really get crazy...corner balance it.
also, you can also measure from your center caps, straight up to your outside fender wall...that helps determine if your 'even' on all 4 corners....assuming your fenders aren't bent at all.

Corner balancing is almost mandatory for coilovers. You can easily get a situation where you have a huge crossweight. Might make it better if you need the car to turn easier in one direction than the other (I play with x-weight on my RX-7 to help it turn right, it HATES turning right) but this is kind of an "advanced" move.

This is the way to do it, but remember that even doing this your alignment will still be off even if all measure the same and the car looks level. This gets to the bad point of having adjustable coilovers and where learning how to do your own alignments really helps (which is what I need to learn to do).

+1, I forgot about that cuz I get free alignments.
raising your car will increase your toe and camber IN, and increase tire wear pretty bad if you don't fix it.
