Corn planter? :-P

LOL.. hows that thing going to last off-road?

I know my spare tyre well was crunched in about 6inches, to where the spare tyre wouldn't fit in anymore...

Also might want to consider having the welding job finished... Looks like they are just tacked in a few places.... Full length bead will add strength...

looks light it would warp if you full seamed it.
I'd hate to be the vermin to come in contact with that.

looks evil. Those fins are gonna get bent if you're really romping that car. Pretty sweet for something thats going to stay on the street though.

I got a good laugh out of the thread title too.. :)

those look viscious. this might be a stupid question, (my mommy and daddy told me there is no such thing as a stupid question) but what is the purpose for those, other than ripping squirrels to shreds?

Not really... I mean, if you do ANY offroading at all, that thing looks like it will break... It just takes 1 slide into a ditch to bend up the spare tyre well... **** that can happen even if your TRYING to stay on the pavement... :headbang:

Also... I always thought the idea of these was to produce downforce? By being narrower @ the front and Open wider in teh rear... Drawing a vacuum under the car (aka. downforce) ... I may be wrong though...

but what is the purpose for those, other than ripping squirrels to shreds?

aerodynamics...increase air flow efficiency (ie reduce drag) as air comes out from underneath the car.

same reason you seem them on the top and back of a lot of hoods (little diffuser fins) to smooth the air going down the back of the car and hitting the spoiler.

the common car design with the back chopped off at the trunk is actually very bad aerodynamically...in general, the most aerodynamic shape through a fluid is more like a teardrop (wider up front, and then tapers back).
