Hey I am looking at buying a XT for a cheap winter beater until I finish school. There is one for sale near me, but the car has a few electrical problems, the Tach, oil pressure, and water temp gauge do not work, and idea what that could be. I am know very little about these cars so I dont know where to start looking...
Thanks Justin. Cheers

I am wonder if there are any decent aftermarket suppliers that people know of, I am having the hardest time finding parts for this car.. Even at subuar dealerships.

I just bought one of these and I can't wait to get it on the road. Probably going to be an early spring time project though, as I hate working in the cold these days...
All it really needs is to fix the suspension as the air ride has given out and the coolant temp was high on the way home.... Previous owner gave me four regular shocks and a new radiator with it...might not use the shocks though, in favor of retaining the Adjustable Height Air Suspension.

the air suspension is NOT adjustable height... it is self adjusting to keep same ride height... BUT that said.
TO OP. the tach runs off the dizzy (distributor) i'd say if it is the dizzy it wouldnt run at all (cam pickup is in the distributor) but maybe the wiring to the dash is screwy...
there is a TON of info on teh Subaruxt.com/forum and we/they are all very helpful there.
