This is the final points event for the JV series, which means CASH MONEY. see below for the current payout schedule or the web site for all the gritty details. It's also a CRS and FRX event.
I'll be gathering up some odds and ends to give away for prizes.
If you ever wanted to run the wide open spaces of Johnson Valley, this may just be your last chance.

woah, whats this about cash money!?
MarkA

There's a little mini-series for only the JV events put on by the venue organizer. He then pays out cash based on that. The 2008 standings and prize pool are on this page: http://jaycomservices.com/Event_Management/Johnson_Valley_RallyX/JVRXseries.html

so are we doing the normal amount of runs and getting double points or are we gonna do double runs? it would be awesome to do some night runs........
MarkA
10-24-2008, 08:23 AM
Double what? It should just be a normal event, scored and ran as such.
SoCalBoomer
10-24-2008, 08:42 AM
yep - normal event.
Jayson does tend to give a lot of runs, though. . . but I doubt night runs, especially out there - combine the dust clouds plus darkness. . .whew. :D
by dark some of us 'older' people need to go home and rest :waving:
& I am having some slight wiring issues which might cause me to pass on this one but by the looks of Mark's link chart above ^^ I damn well better get my a$$ in gear - this payout could make my day a freebie if I don't screw it up....

What class are you?
I see you have an evo, Stock and Mod 4 run @9:30, so unless you are running R4 you need to be there 1st thing.

Sweet, we're up first. What would be the work times if you're in SS4?
SoCalBoomer
10-31-2008, 11:51 AM
We typically have you work in the run group immediately following the one you ran in. . .
wow- is that awkward sentence? LOL
You should work in the group running right after you.

holy crap man that's an awsome long fkn course that looked like a blast
SoCalBoomer

yeah - SHORTEST runs were 2:03.78 and 2:03.81 (Bill Martin and myself, respectively)
we need to do something about the visibility later in the day - maybe put up with a slightly shorter number of runs and cut out at 2:00 or so - it seems that the wind picks up around then and after that. . .well, visibility is shot. While we were stacking cones, cleaning up, etc. it got so bad that visibility was literally about 5 feet. . .
But Dave and Loren put together a GREAT course! It was a lot of fun going forward (morning runs) but it was WAY better, even, going backward (afternoon) - well, when we could SEE where we were going! :lol2:
I have the runs and such and I will get everything double-checked and hopefully posted in a few hours.

I sent the results off to Jayson, I expect he'll have them posted soon.

Nice pics boomer. The visibility was actually worse than illustrated, so the photogs must've had a field day with light metering.

I was on my street tires!! RE050's with a tread rating of 140 i.e. no grip!! It took everything I had to keep the car straight. Had I been on my snows it would have been a different story!

What's wrong buddy? You scared of getting schooled another time?
As for running in R4 next year, it's not looking good. I might be lucky to make it up to SM4. This little renovation project is hurting my pocket book BIG time. :-(

No! I ****ed up at Vallejo I know. Had I not looped it I would have been in decent shape. Oh well!!! You know I would have been a lot faster at JV had I not been on slicks but at least we both took home victories in our respective classes! 505 FTW! Now onto ridgecrest where they may as well just give me the trophy now for the runoff seeing how noones showing up! No Brent, John, Aaron, Tom WTF! It's lonely at the top!! Ha ha!!

Mike is without doubt a better driver, but I'm going to say the dust difference between when he ran and when I ran the second set of 3 runs accounted for most of that 15 seconds. It was brutal.

The dust thing got a bit outa control. My last run was horrible. I couldn't see the cone sitting next to my car...

Yep - all the 2wd guys had a better time of it than the Awd guys.
Plus, remember, the 2wd guys went first, so we had more solid ground than the AWD guys who had to run quite a bit on talcum powder. . .
that's why we compete against our own class and not overall! LOL
btw - I almost never even hit 5000rpm - I was too worried about throwing a belt again.

Don't mess with Loren, I read on another forum that he nearly mowed a dude down just for driving a white Focus (and hiding in a dust cloud)! I'm wondering about the story of how the front of his car got messed up now.. the median.. sure...

I again, want to offer my sincere thanks to the guy in the red Subie wagon who at the last minute decided NOT to run me over.
Maybe it was a different guy in a red Subie wagon. Cos.. you know, they're pretty common.
