I need to pick up some springs for my ground control coil overs, on verison 6 sti struts.

I was thinking of going with a 250 front 225 rear 2.5ID and 12inch tall

I'm unsure if thats not tall enough to lift the car a few inches over stock or if its to tall?

Ilikeitsideways is running 10" springs I think... I wouldent go taller than that. His setup it f***ing sweet.

Elliott is pretty low actually. He and I had a conversation about that.

The big thing with picking coilover springs is to make sure the stack height isn't so large that you end up with the possibility of coil bind at full compression.

That I am, it's a pretty decent setup!

10" springs will be plenty long. What will you be doing with the car? That will help determine spring rates. I use 225lb in the front and 200lb in the rear, and have had excellent results for rallycross.

Ty - I'm a bit lower now that Kyle nearly rolled my car, so I dropped the car down about an inch in the front.

This is how high the car rode with about 1/2" of thread left on the sleeve.

I have the same setup as ILIKEITSIDEWAYS
10" 225/200 on kyb agx
These are plenty tall enough. (see pic in post above)
My springs are set mid collar to get an even 1" lift all around.
I think 12" would be too long

hahaha I guess 12 inches was a bit ambitious I'll go with 10 inch. I want to RallyX and have something sportier than stock RS springs. I have a swapped GC so that was completely set up for tarmac and i'm converting most of it over to do off roading. I have cusco lateral links and trailing arms so I can adjust the camber and caster in the rear for lowering and raising I think the height of ilikeitsidways car is good I wouldn't wanna go any taller than that unless I was going over some huge stuff at slow speeds.

so now the question is if I should run a tad stiffer spring than you guys or run what you guys are?

Huh... visually, that looks WAY higher than the ride heights you talked about the day we talked about camber curve and roll center axis slope. Either the ride height measurements on GCs are WAAAY different than on GDs, or something else is fishy. Cause in that picture your car is on the kind of stilts I want to put mine on :muhaha:

You need to reconsider that. Springs are NOT a place to cheap out. Cheap springs will be less linear, have a large stack height, and fail sooner. In the long run, cheap springs are A LOT more expensive. Swift are the highest-quality readily available coil. Eibach aren't bad (not as good as Swift though) and are dead easy to get.

ahhhhhhhhhh........... I guess I'll shell out the cash for some good springs then
