This is your source for affordable rally tires:

Careful with the rally tires though, theyll put you in the top classes at most rallycross events.

Sadly the team illuminata tires are all 15's. They do however sell a set of 15" wheels that fit over WRX brakes :D

Look up Winterforce snow tires. They aren't rally tires and i believe they have soft sidewalls, but they're better than most A/S tires.

You will have to get 15's if you want to run rally tires. It is damn near impossible to get 16" rally tires that will fit your car here in the USA.
I run Blizzaks when I don't run my rally tires. LOVE them!
I happen to have some 205-55-16 MaxSport Rally tires for my car. I got extremely lucky and Paul at TeamIlluminata.com hooked me up with. He only imported 5 of them, and I jumped all over them...
Get a napkin, because you will drool!

yeah its pretty much a fact that you gotta have 15's in order to play with rally tires. For guys with STi's that means converting to the smaller group N brakes and ditching the fatty brembos.

fattie/ryan, what version of the blizzaks do you have? I was looking at them and would love to know what you're running.

WS-50's They are amazing in the snow! They perform well at rallyX to, but they do tend to get a little chewed up due to the softness of them.

i ran these tires in 3 rallyX's this year before i got my rally tires and they're awesome. they're sick in the snow and sick on the course. i highly recommend them. also, you can't beat the price...i paid just $55 a tire through tirerack.
also, there are 16" rally tires in the store i posted the link too

I am pretty sure they are to tall to run on our cars. Its not that you cant find 16" rally tires, its that you cant find the right size for our cars.

Well now Im kinda depressed. I wish there was a place that made 16's that fit our girls. Dangit. Oh well like you said, I would probably be put into a high class because of 'em.

you've still got good alternatives
i've had lots'o'luck w/winterforce ms's i ran them in 2 winter rallyx's and 1 summer and they performed great.
also, i'm sure you could get yourself a set of 15" steelies to mount rally tires on for low dough

Thats true. I didnt think of it that way. Thank you for making me feel better. Less cash = more money for gas to get to events!

I know tire rack carries steelies for our cars that actualy clear the brakes! Check them out.
As for the winter tires.. They work OK... Nothing compared to a real rally tire! STIFF sidewalls + soft tread FTW!!

Hey lorenkb, if ur gonna be at Antioch 2 take my car for a spin w/rally tires...then when you got the dough get some wheels and tires!!!

Its a world of difference folks! I pretty much had to learn the car all over again when I switched to rally tires. I could charge harder, and brake later with them, which was very very nice! Less body roll due to the stiffer sidewalls helped out the turn in response a lot.

 That's quite the offer! If I hold off on getting them that long (and make it to Antioch) I'll take you up on it.
You need to start a members journal so I can oggle over your car! Looks like you clipped the front bumper and run grille-less?

UHHH bumper...Yea that was a result of its first trip to Glamis. There was a little damage and I lost my filler around the fog lamp...so for the next trip to Glamis I cut the mother!!! What a huge difference in approach angle and ground clearance!! I will eventually finish it off with a skid plate. Now the grill, I removed the center and just cut out the honycomb and sanded it smooth and Im planning on shaping some stainless wire mesh and the list goes on......Ive got alot of plans and most are not even half done. (yea probably time for a Member Journal) I must say this, I love this damn car and glad I was patient enough to wait for the 2.5 in the wrx!!!
