I am wondering if 2006 wrx brake lines are compatible with a 2006 2.5i? (upgrading from factory lines to stainless steel lines)

Actually, they *might* not. I know anything from 05-02 WRX's will work since they have the 2-pot front brakes like the 2.5i's do, plus I have stainless lines on my 07 2.5i from an 03 WRX. But I believe only 06-07 WRX's (maybe 08's too?) have the 4-pot brakes. The mounting points might be different on those compared to the earlier years.

I would compare though.

yea, but the issue is probably length of line and fitting size. I went from brembos to 4 pots and the fittings / lengths were the same. the fittings are most likely standard thru all subarus?

4-pot lines are the same. I just installed 4 pots on my gen1 Legacy, same length lines as my '02 WRX. I'm pretty certain all GD/GG lines are the same regardless of calipers.
