Do you know what your intake manifold sits on?...a superheated boxer engine. If you don't know already, the cooler your intake air is the more HP your car will achieve. We present you the answer to this age old problem, raising the intake manifold off the engine with GrimmSpeed's new real Phenolic Intake Manifold/TGV to Engine Spacer.

Phenolic spacers have been used for years by many other specialized automotive companies, but this is very new technology to the Subaru world.

Greatly reduces the transer of heat from engine to intake manifold
One of a kind true Phenolic material, not cutting board material like others.
The cooler your intake temperature is the denser the air is which leads to more power
Direct bolt-on. Users may reuse stock bolts intake manifold.
We have installed both with and without OEM Subaru Gaskets and have had no issues with either way. We recommend if you have bad mating surfaces then use an OEM gaskets on both sides.

Currently these spacers are for most 02+ subaru engines. Soon we will have spacers that fit most 93-01 subarus.

Just so people know about the Phenolic material. It is a common board used for high temp circuit boards. We have lots of them in our main frame computers in the navy.

Did you base the design on a gasket?

I will be ordering some of these this month for the rebuild. :)

Justin or Josh, please don't ship out my coated TMIC until I call or email you guys (you should be getting it in the mail today), you're probably going to ship stuff directly to my tuner's shop.

two questions. when you install these, do you need two gaskets? So it would be manifold-gasket-spacer-gasket? Just curious....

and..

can you make one for my car?

yep, i HIGHLY recommend put a gasket on each side of the spacer for proper sealing. you are correct, TGV>oem gasket>spacer>oem gasket>engine.

mazdaspeed i'm assuming?...if you wanted to be a mazda ambassador we could work together and get something made up. hit me up on PM.

I am not a nay-sayer, but do you have dyno #'s proving power gains? If so, I would love to see them.

its hard for me to post a dyno because the avg customer gains are 3-7hp and i know that is within the error range of dynos. soon i'll be doing some long term road dyno'ing.

yeah we could probably work something out. we'd want to do an initial group buy or something just to make sure that enough people want it.
