okay, what I'm looking for is the best set up (wheel size) for daily driving and mud/dirt/gravel driving for my 97 OBS. Also if anyone has ever changed struts on a GC8 and would be willing to lend me a helping hand I would REALLY appreciate it.

thanks all

i'd go with 16's and a decent set of all seasons. you can usually pick up 02+ WRX wheels usually with the RE92's still on'em for cheap. and if you don't like the satin alloy look, you can paint'em! easy to paint too, with minor prep-hassle.

awesome, thanks for info. I wasn't sure if 15's or 16's would be better. From the pictures i've looked at a lot of them looked like 15's but very easily could have been 16's.

Thanks again

how much better are 16's than 15's? and is the greater performance due to the increased width?

well, not so much of a gain performance wise...they look way better, and 16" tires are a lot easier to come by. being a larger wheel, you have the option to go with a wider tire which is better for street applications. however, in the winter i use my stock 15" steelies with narrower than stock snow tires. the narrower the tires, the better job they do cutting into soft terrain. the snow tires work awesome for dirt/mud too.

around here 15's seem to be much easier to come by. I'm also considering just making the OBS my Designated Debbie and picking up an RS if I can find one fairly cheap to take out on the weekends and on rainy days.
