Pros:
Pretty
Super clean
Stock as a box of rocks
Almost two grand under KBB value (http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/PricingReport.aspx?YearId=2002&VehicleClass=UsedCar&ManufacturerId=47&Condition=Excellent&ModelId=270&PriceType=Retail&VehicleId=4746&Mileage=75000&SelectionHistory=4746%7C28829%7C77057%7C0%7C0%7C)( !?)
Carfax-certified presumably means no title weirdness

Cons:
Not a wagon (subjective :D )
No sunroof (ditto)

I dunno, it looks great. I'm just trying to figure out why the lowball price. Does it have service history?

I've seen better deals, but nothing that clean or in that rare color. Decent miles. If your looking for a bugeye and willing to spend that much, I'd say you found what your looking for.

sounds like it is definitely worth checking out. and as far as rollo's sunroof comment, i have found that my legacy sunroof requires me to angle my seat back more than i would like to so that my helmet can fit. no sunroof means more headroom.

carfax can be used to expose problems, but don't use it to rule any out.

Yeah.. that's why I said it was subjective :D

No sunroof in the Evo means more headroom, lower CG (less weight up high), less stuff to go wrong, and also I get a sunglasses holder which the sunroof cars didn't get. Sunroof (well moonroof) in the Corrado = headache city. Although giant sunroof in the LGT = awesome.

But some people like 'em.. I was kinda clutching at straws :D

+eleventy. It'll expose title oddities, but there's a lot of stuff that can go wrong that doesn't show up on the title. Hence the service history question. Also bear in mind that the 100k=150k mile mark seems to be when all the expensive consumables break :)

Price does seem a little low, but I picked up my 02 Blue WRX Wagon in March for $10k. Probably because it had 110k miles, bumper damage, a destroyed bearing and hub (probably previous owner macked a curb), and some mods (which questionably always decreases car resale value). I haven't had any major unfixable problems so far. All the major components like turbo, motor, frame, etc. have been great so far even with the high mileage and constant RallyX abuse.

Oh yeah and Defenite CON:

NOT A WAGON!!! Ha j/k. Seriously though only a 100 extra lbs vs. tons of extra space. It really helps when youre hauling a bunch of crap to RallyX events.

hey looks exactly like the one i burnt:shock:

new style radiator ftw (you wont have to change out)

one thing that you might want to look into, wheel barings, ps pump. (items that gave me problems with the new car and old car right about 85,000 miles)((granted i abused the shiat out of the old one:roll:))

otherwise looks very clean.:headbang:

good luck on your decision

I got a 02 bugeye, I just have issues with misfires,(due to vf34 and sti pinks) but I think it the old coils and I just need to replace some of the old parts. If this helps, I've got 122,200miles on it, and a vf 34 and push 19.5 tapering to 16.5, and beat it like it's cool. The bugeye's just laughs back at me. No matter how ugly it is, I love this car.

Be wary, I've seen that one all over the interwebs for the past month, ebay autotrader cars.com etc...It seems a little weird that it hasn't been picked up yet. Also, I would offer more like 10k.

from a tech standpoint, the 02's have the 'glass' tranny...so be sure to drive it, make sure things are ok. Don't abuse it, you should be fine...but I'd make sure you have cash on hand because 1) you just don't know, no matter how clean it is, and 2) **** happens anyway, no matter how careful you are.

but I had an 03 for 45K miles and I loved it.
