Just ordered a new license plate today...

I never thought id end up doing it but yes... i ordered a new personalized license plate today.

You have 8 - 12 weeks to guess what it is! LOL because thats when the DMV said they would be delivered.

MASS SUCKS...

we're only allowed 6 characters on a vanity
the 1st 2 characters have to be letters
you can't have numbers then letters again

as you can see, us M*******S are very limited when it comes to options but it forces us to be more creative

i caravan'd up to the Wicked Big Meet with 20 other subies and one of the New Hampshire guys had SWLROXW. which none of us could figure out so we had to ask him WTF it meant and he let us know to read every other letter.

i loved it cuz' of the creativity

I love this!! There is a guy at AutoX in Milwaukee that has one and he swears by it.. I just started autoXin my car and I beat him with a virtually stock REX. Eventhough I was in the show room stock and he was in the street moded class.

They're just magnet material painted red and cut into strips. Classic Hash marks they used these in the 60's to quickly tell the difference between two team cars. Easier than looking at the numbers from far a way. I just like the way they look.

Hey thats pretty awesome. Thanks for the history lesson... Im wondering if i could somehow use this to DI's advantage. Like if there were several DI members at the same rallycross, show some "team" support.

Id have to ask you though, i have lots of magnetic vinyl signs, and theyre too thick to handle the bend between the fender and the wheel well. Is that one you have painted red, pretty thin?

^ Yeah I bought the magnet material at AC More. Its an Arts and Crafts store. It is pretty thin. I did it because the SCCA requires certain decals for the National Tour and I didn't want to stick them on the car. I obvioulsy only had to stick on the one on the hood. I bends really easily, but once it sits in the sun. It will fold right down on the fender. I would recomend putting colored vinyl over the magnet. Because up close the spray paint is a bit rought. The strips themselves are 3" wide.

Thats pretty cool. How did you get that one to stick on the hood? none of my magnets stick very well on the hood because its aluminum.

The team stripes were required by the SCCA? Or im misunderstanding what you said.

Oh no, The Hash marks where something I just thought would be cool. The rest of the stuff was required by the SCCA. I had to actully stick the SCCA decal to hood. Thats the only one that wasn't a magnet.

The standard ones in CA are still white with the red cursive "california" at the top. The whale tail is one of the several designs you can choose from when you get a "vanity" plate...
