hey so i recieved a PM from user acssa and he is asking me a question that i dont want to guess on. Soo i will ask in here


Hi... I am from South Africa

I have a 07 Sti 2.5 and I recently fitted a HKS EVC6 boost controller, APS CAI,APS 725 intercooler with BOV, Aquamist 2d with DDS3, The fuel I am using is 95 and I use NF octane booster.
The ECU MAP was done.

Under load at around 15-20% throttle the car surges- it feels like I am slowly pumping the gas pedal. The cia give a sucking sound and when car surges I can hear the sucking sound change as it is "shaking/surge". To get rid of it I must press the pedal more or come of it.

I did change the BOV to the standard one, as a test, and it is doing the same thing.


Have you heard of this problem before?

Nah, not a scam I don't think, or a very elaborate one if so. Although quite why he thought Andy could answer those questions when the combined minds of NASIOC and IWSTI apparently couldn't, I don't really know (no offence Andy, I'd have posted it in the forum as well cos I have no clue).

weird. i've seen a few threads in various forums recently of people having problems getting installs/tunes in S.Africa. seems weird that i had never seen any before, and this is the third i've seen in a couple weeks...definitely a different one than the others i saw, too.

and all these guys putting mods on there subarus with no pro tunes are just messing up there cars..

one of the other threads i read was about a guy who got a bunch of APS stuff put on his car by the only authorized dealer in SA, along with a tune, but they messed something up. he was upset APS would sell through them, but it doesn't really sound like there are a lot of options there.
