So, I wasn't sure where to post this since it isn't a 'Suby' product, but its definitely a 'technical' tool, and seems awesome for us Suby owners.

I emailed them for pricing...seems pretty f'ing cool to me. Anyone use this or know someone that does?

Use those all the time, in the trail, at the track, in the garage. Super versatile. When we use them on our trail runs we fill it up, and bring it with us knowing it can fill up to 25 33" tires. Let alone work air tools, run air lockers on the trucks etc. Awesome tool, always works, almost indestructible.

Liquid Co2... Very nice! Not sure how good it is to use with air tools, or tires though. That **** come out COLD! I can see a tire pressure problem due to the cold air. You would have to air it up, let it sit for a few min to get to temp, then check it again.

it works surprisingly well becuase you dont run liquid C02, fill it with nitrogen or compressed air and you don't have to worry about the liquid C02, thats the only thing we put in there.

you can go to any welding shop. Or, you can simply fill it with an air compressor up to its psi limits. When I bought mine 3 years ago it ran for 350. They have gone up a bit I think. They def arent cheap but we needed them for our offroad club so we bought 3 of them and they hooked us up. The ones we purchased were the blue ones, forgot the exact part number.

awesome, thanks for the feedback/review.

If you don't mind, how much did you pay for yours? And how much to fill up?

Where do you get nitrogen, isn't that something you need a license for? I assume you don't mean liquid nitrogen?

Now....I thought the whole liquid CO2 thing is the reason you can power air tools, etc......holds much more 'energy' via liquid CO2 vs regular air tank (and won't explode like a compressed air tank would).

The 'temperature' issue would be minimal. If you're filling a whole tire, maybe....but then you'd just have to underfill it so when it warms up it won't over inflate.

(notice I pulled and edited my first post)

I have recently been using compressed air to fill it so free is the price. But at the welding shops its usually around 25 bucks or so, but it lasts a long time.

Can try paint ball shops for the Co2. I know a place around here that has dollar fill Tuesdays. It would be funny taking that thing in there and getting it filled for a buck!

that looks like an awesome product! i have my stupid 10gal airtank that my puny little air compressor can only get up to about 80psi. I mean its good enough for me to bump up the pressure of 4 tires, but wouldnt last if i needs some serious air pressure...

a very cool idea. It was very interesting reading about how liquid CO2 is safer than compressed nitrogen.

Cool product. I carry a portable air compressor with me in the car when I go out to the rough stuff. Plugs into my cigerette lighter. Fills up to 120 psi.

Yea it is. It takes me like 20 min. to fill up a tire. It is sad. It makes me want to :( :machinegunleft: in the face!

Thats the other good thing, its powerful enough to re-set a bead on a blown tire, comes in handy alot just for that fact

yeah, i was thinking this would be the main benefit for any rallycross event.

haha!!

ok, back on topic...for my next question: Does anyone know (or want to read the rules) if one of these (properly mounted) is legal in the back of a stage rally car? I'm guessing no, but who knows.

Seems like a lot of weight for the back of a rally car...but then again, if you're in the middle of nowhere and you blow a bead but you can be back on stage in under 5 minutes....seems like a nice advantage.

I believe it is legal, alot of the guys in the desert series races always have them. I think anythign hard mounted in the car is safe for competition. As long as the tank gets pressure tested when it needs to it should be fine.

Interesting concept! and have enough hose coiled up in there to reach all sides of the car... that would be great for tires and tools...

cool....anything I can use down the road for stage rally has that much more value to me.

A mate of mine hooked up an old scuba diving tank for when he crossed the outback (Australia) did it years ago & it's worked out pretty cheap as a DIY. You should be able to buy a bottle & the fittings pretty cheap.

yeah, the 'key' part is the regulator. set up for C02....and the fact that the reg can freeze if you use it alot. overall, its not a bad price.

Hope Im not to late to help you out Jon. I had to get a few details finalized, Im going to be offering a smaller (liteweight) version of the Power Tank. The system will feature a 2.5# Aluminum bottle (2.5# is capacity of the tank not actual weight) with a 5# option, I think the 2.5# will be plenty for what we do. I keep forgeting to actually weigh the bottle....Anyways the system comes with bottle, regulator, 3' of hose and quick disconect fittings, and an air chuck of the final end of the hose. You can run nitrogen or co2, my preference would be nitrogen as it will not expand with heat and keeps a constant in tire pressure. As long as you are not trying to use the gas as a sheilding gas for welding you can use the same bottle for either(you will have minimal cross contamination). Also it can be shipped like anything else prior to its first fill and identifying label. Cost to fill is about $10 at most any welding supply store. The model above starts at $220.00 and can be upgraded with the 5# bottle, Pelican case, and a shock filling tool/guage (necessary for nitrogen gas type coilovers). The bottles are D.O.T. legal and should be allowed in a rally car as long as its mounted securly!

I will be bringing this setup out to Antioch 2, as well as some extras to sell if people are interested!! See you in Antioch!!

Kyle
