back in 2004 while hanging around with my friend we saw a dealer (Mitsubishi) that had a BBQ going on and i'd been contemplating on either an sti or evo but couldn't afford any;), so i just wanted to try the evo.

after we ate our burgers (man they were good...and free)we told the sales guy we wanted to try the evo and told him the "i really want a subaru but can't afford it right now" story, and he said "then let me show you something that might interest you"; he took us to the back of the dealership and showed us a car that someone had traded in that morning.:headbang: i fell in love when he started her.

02 wrx sedona red
cold air intake
blowoff valve
turbo back exhaust (to this day i don't know what brand it was but it sounded really good)
everything else was stock.

my friend said "dude it's a bug eye" and i said, "STFU it's a wrx" so i acted as :unamused:eh i really don't want this POS car "dude it's a bug eye" i said to the salesman...so i said "not really what i'm looking for but give me your best price and i'll tell you if i take it or not". detail? what? f-no deduct that 500 dollar wash and i'll take it right now:mrgreen:8)...i got home and my girlfriend almost s*** her pants when i showed her what i had just gotten.:guitarist:
and yes that's her \/ \/ \/ she had to try it.

than 2006 comes around Feb, 14 and this ****er:machinegunleft::angryfinger::pissed:
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/Car/02-14-06_1607.jpg

decides to jump into my lane and bam runs into my fender,

http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/Car/Carlos006.jpg
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/Car/Carlos010.jpg
so after that ^^ ****er mentioned above hit's me and disapears from the face of the earth, i had to fix on my own.

so i decide to go with carbon fiber fenders no paint match and a set of kyowa racing kr316 rims and kuhmo spt's tires(loved those things).
all for like $1300 vs $4500 to match paint and replace the damaged wheel (fyi those ****ers from the dealer are like 700 bucks) and this was the end result

now, Feb, 05 2008
i get in an accident
http://www.dirtyimpreza.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3328&highlight=farewell (http://www.dirtyimpreza.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3328&highlight=farewell)
and story short crash, pop, fire...damn
insurance came through for me (go state farm:headbang:) and payed off my car. time to search for a replacemt...
http://dirtyimpreza.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3607&highlight=replacement (http://dirtyimpreza.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3607&highlight=replacement)
so i find this and went for it
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/newcar/DSC00012.jpg
first thing i did to the car was install "decals" ^^^and the foglights i had the dealer get me for free8). \/\/
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/newcar/DSC00026.jpg
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/newcar/DSC00025.jpg
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/newcar/DSC00039.jpg
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/newcar/DSC00037.jpg
then i went for exhaust system
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/newcar/DSC00044.jpg
hey look there must've been dogs all over 'cause there are no cats around lol:crazy::tongue:
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/newcar/underbody/UB04.jpg
and then right before DM3 i had custome skid plates made and installed. and man did they get used...

http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/newcar/underbody/UB08.jpg
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/newcar/underbody/UB07.jpg
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/newcar/underbody/UB01.jpg
here's the damage the car suffered on DM3...bush:unamused:
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/newcar/underbody/UB11.jpg
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/newcar/underbody/UB12.jpg
and could've been worse (go skids) big rock mark:shock:.
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/newcar/underbody/UB10.jpg

on the skid plate i had to resort to a local shop that does work on my car and made me a custom skid for header clearence and told him to keep the template just in case, it worked bitchn'.

07/04/08
i bough DR. T SUBY'S spt intake and installed it (very nice i tell you what)
go paul.

so driving home i notice steam comming from the hood pulled over and radiator is going bad fast. now it's leaking.

so after running with a leaking radiator and out of funds i finally got my paycheck and was able to order this bad boy and installed it saturday.

http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g6/wrxcmm/DIY/DSC00191.jpg

i've heard good things about this radiator so i went for it all aluminum it is a little bit thicker and taller than the stock one but only by like 1/4" or so not much and for some reason the car runs slightly cooler now.

Is it much difference for handling? Or anything else for that matter?

WRXCMM
07-31-2008, 07:27 AM
for some reason i feel that the wagon is a tad more slugish imo, as far as handling i cant really say cause the sedan had no suspension upgrades this one has coilovers and someother goodies that make it handle imo a bit better, it has alot less understeer.

btw guys did you know the wagon gets better rating than the sedan? (at least state farm idk about the rest)

i was paying like 180 a month with no accidents with the sedan, now that i crashed and burnt the sedan, i got the wagon and i'm paying 130 a month...wtf:shootsself:

both skids are made of 3/16" aluminum and yeah it's pretty beefy, i bottomed out on top of a rock while hauling ass to the lakebed (dm3) it took a big hit but it only got a scratch.:headbang:

where did you have the skids made? and is it possible to get a template or measurements for them as far as dimensions and drilling points as i have a buddy that does A LOT of work with aluminum.

Z

P.S. are the frames the same from 02 - 07?

couple changes i want to make are mounting point to the jack plate, and froma brace from the subframe current mounting points to give me a little more ground clearence. (skid hangs a little low in the back.)

but i believe the frame is the same form 02 - 07
