I made contact with the media people over at Subaru World Rally Team, and they have granted DI access to their media center. Since the revamp of the news system here, i am planning on posting up to date information on as many of the WRC events as i can. Pretty stoked...

Yeah they hassled me about using the SWRT flag in my most recent video...

We have noticed that the 'Quick Impreza Clip' on the Dirty Impreza website http://www.dirtyimpreza.com features a Subaru World Rally Team flag and associates the clip with the team.

The Dirty Impreza website has made no request and has no authorisation to use the Subaru World Rally Team's name, image or trademark to promote your products or services.

Prodrive is acutely aware of the marketing value attached to the Subaru World Rally Team marketing property and is very proud of the achievements it has earned with the support of its marketing partners. The Subaru World Rally Team name and logo can only be used by the team and its partners.

I would propose that in order to put this matter to rest that the Dirty Impreza website removes the image of the team flag and association with the team from the 'Quick Impreza Clip'.


To keep them happy i just pulled the video for now on the main page. Its a good thing i didnt use any logos anywhere on the rest of the website. :)

Thats outrageous. Its like a free publicity thing for them. And when you buy the flag does that make you "supported by SWRT?"

My thoughts exactly Blue... free exposure for them, especially because im not selling anything and wont make any financial gains. Im just glad they dont want to shut me down completely for using "impreza". Its happened to other websites in the past.

Whatever. People and their psychotic grip on copyrights and products. It was a flag that I BOUGHT and that I DISPLAY at rallycrosses. I don't drive for the fricken SWRT. gimme a break. LOL

Huh... So you can buy their flag and wave it around, but you can't put that in a video of a some subies having fun? I guess we aren't allowed to show our support for SWRT :cry:

Also, glad to hear you have products and/or services to offer us now Aaron! Maybe some magic rallyx tires that pull 5 g's in the dirt, or stage 500 engine packages? C'mon man, don't hold out on us. The cat is out of the bag, SWRT says so!!
