This link disappeared for a while but I found it again (?) Anyway, this is the best documentation that i've seen of what it takes to prep an STi into a Group N rally machine!

A rally car is built from the ground up with no detail overlooked. Here you will find a detailed account of the professionals at Vermont SportsCar crafting this amazing machine from scratch. Watch as an ordinary Subaru WRX STi is transformed into a dirt-eating gravel machine. Note the team's attention to detail and pride in their work while building this car. Next time you are at an event get a close look at this amazing ride.

That build never ceases to amaze me.
I can't believe the detail and amount of work that has gone into it.

It would be a hell of a lot of fun to build/help build that kind of car. And of course, drive it.

They stitch weld most of the cars. I race with a few guys that did that with their Miatas and Hondas. They said it helped more than the strut tower braces and cross members. I tend to believe them :-)

This is one thing that I will do when I can dedicate a car just for the weekends :-)
