This transmission is either from an early 90's Impreza or Legacy N/A. Most likely from a Legacy...

Here is what I know that I need

-The mounts
-A Cable
-Clutch Pedal Box/Clutch Pedal etc.
-Center Console/Shifter Assembly
-Possibly a different rear diff.

Is there anything else that I need? Do I need to run different axles?

I'm clueless on this so any help would be great!

yea, theres a good deal of electrical work you need to do, including swapping ecu's

oh...that's not going to be cheap. I don't think I'll be doing this after all. I'm a full time college student with no money. I'll just drive the car until the tranny poops out I guess.

the car should still run ok with the Auto ECU no? The early model cars had significantly less going through the ECU anyway...

im not 100% sure, one thing to keep in mind is the car will not start if its still looking for the transmission to be in park for instance.

the ECU for the auto and manual are the same, the only wiring is basically for the starter safety switch (since it has to be in P or N to start) and for the reverse light, you can wire up cruise as well if you have it. But it is simple if you have ever tried to wire anything before.

you will not need new axles if the is for your 91' and the tranny is coming from anything under 2000 (i think its 2000). You will need the driveshaft and the tranny crossmember.

here are two write ups on the swap, they will tell you everything you need as well

isn't there a separate TCU that talks to the ECU? if so there would be a different TCU for the auto or manual.... again I'm new to subarus so I might be wrong
