these dudes have been broken down across the street from my house just beatin' the crud out of the starter of this neon with a baseball bat for about an hour now...i don't think it's gonna start.

Theres your problem. The dude with the bat obviously doesn't have enough sense to buy a real hat, so obviously he doesn't know how to work on a car. :P

He's a gangsta mechanic I guess. Hence the bat. haha

Stereotypes are bad and all that, but I'm gonna venture a guess that the car is a manual transmission to boot (oh the irony...).

I do feel their pain though. Having a car break down on you really, really, sucks.

EDIT: Arg, beaten to the punch!

it's actually NOT a manual. they've tried rolling it while smashing down on the starter a few times already and when they made it by my house i could see the console. ...they started out about 30 feet to the left of my house, now they're about 100 feet to the right. now they're just sittin' 'round i'm assuming waiting for a towtruck.

I have no idea. My parents used to have a Neon and I felt like a pansy in it. No power at all. I think these guys can from my neighborhood though.........

My buddies run a neon out here for rallycross. They got it way cheap, but then again that explains why its not running right now either... :(
