Call me retarded but I love the sound of a car flying threw the woods, the echo it makes and the different tones even when you cant see the car. I had a little time today so I threw the tripod out on the backroads and did a few pulls, nothing serious. Someone who has an actual good camera that records sound well needs to come with me one day and make a quick vid out in the dirt, I have been itching to get footage but Im always driving and have no one to video on these random trips. Now that its warm anyone want to make a video and test some camera angles and such? Let me know.
As for the forest vid, here it is. Quality absolutely sucks but I guess I'm a gearhead and I like listening to it. Something neat about that forest echo from far away.

If that makes you retarded, count me in as well. That was awesome. Just something about it...
Something tells me you might enjoy these as much as I do.

You both put up some nice sounding vids. I will say that I like the old cars the best out of your 2 Lorenkb. They were bomb!

It would be nice to hear the auto union cars in person. I have yet to find a clip that does a WW2 aircraft engine justice. It's just something you have to hear in person. They are incredibly loud... you can feel the soundwaves.
This video is poor quality audio but doesn't filter out all the low freqs of a p-51: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqJGwk14NjY&mode=related&search=
Heres a low pass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ziqo0XE8GA&mode=related&search=
Between the two you start to get a feel for just how crazy these things sound. Crank the volume!
Be sure and post up more video of the subie in the woods if you have it! Imagine what it would sound like in a canyon

Very nice. I enjoyed the low lvl pass. Didnt the P-51s have a Chevy 454 or something like that?

No, not quite. try more along the lines of a 27 liter V12. 1300 hp on 100 octane fuel. They got a bit crazy with the lead additives towards the end of the war and got it up to 150 octane. One variant of the engine produced a tad over 2000 hp.
The particular version in the p-51 had 1480hp. Just a tad more than the old 454 can put out :P

Ok. That must have been a kit plane or something then. Anything over 1k hp is a bit more then a 454 can put out. Thanks for the history though. A V-12 thats HUGE!

The ugly panda sounds mean as hell! I want to get mine sounding like that as well. Excuse my laziness in not looking up your member profile, but what is done to the exhaust?

lol. Not bad for a beater right!
Right now all it has is a borla header, no cats, wrx midpipe with resonator still and a muffler thats way to big, but basicly flow through.
