 ... is the shiz-nit !

I just had to paint the car a little, its been so long, since I drove it, ( early March. ) or even looked at it ...

Well, since it was warm & sunny ( rare in Ohio, even in Summer. ) I pulled the center dash appart, nice to know it comes appart easy-er than a VAG product. 8) I painted all the pieces, that people like painting "body color", flat black ... I mean, semi-flat.

Turned out OK, for the 15 min. I spent on it... No, I did not prep ****, since it shouldnt be expossed to the elements ... If thats a problem, see my other "ghetto" mod posts ... ( ie: I dont care )

Sorry no pics at this time, ( use your imagination ) maybe after next weekend. I'll be somewhere where people love taking pics.:headbang::D Might be some dirt or mud involved...

you should have at least cleaned it with some mr. clean magic erasers -- that'll rough up the surface enough to guarantee the paint will never chip... then cover it with a matte clear finish (DEFT brand sold at Walmart and Meijer works great and has low fumes)

just curious, did you have those little logos to deal with by the vents? (the ones that show "open" and "closed" vents so you know which way to turn the knob)??? I was considering painting the faux woodgrain on my girlfriend's legacy dash... but I don't want to cover those up unless I can make replacement decals (not likely since they're white)

I cleaned it with some water and a micro fiber, it took off the usual dirt/dust, fingerprint grease, lightly caffinated bevrerages spils ...

I have no idea, what you are talking about its an '05, with the SAAB redisegned dash, so everything with lettering/writing unbolts from the back.

ohhh...

well on the older legacies and outbacks, the air vents have little white [ ] [ x ] logos below them to show where to turn that dial to either open or close the vent, and it's printed on top of the wood grain, instead of being embossed into the plastic like they are on the forester and impreza of that year.

I also painted some other stuff ( and peeled off the stickers ) a while back ...
