me and my cusin have been wondering about a humming noice when we get to about 130 + i have a 2002 wrx and he's got a 2007 wrx the noice seems to be coming from the passanger side (front) i think (but not sure) that the noice might be comming from the windshield wiper...dont know has anyone come across that?

Id be suprised if things weren't humming and buzzing at 130. most likely the hood scoop.

Subies love to rattle, clunk, and buzz... :)

When I have had my Rex up to a higher speed it rattles. Its usually the scoop. I have heard a higher pitch whine(for lack of a better term) that was the turbo just pouring its heart into the motor. Also the front wheels may get up and wiggle and make a slight noise. Depending on what the sound sounded like it could be any number of things though...........

I got my 06 wrx wagon up to approx 155 (speedo only goes to 140 but the needle was straight down in the odometer and my bro was pacing me at 160) Usually its the scoop ratling and looking like its gonna fly off and wind noise at the window seals, but I think we all have those noises.

the turbo...might be...but is there a point where the output of the engine is > the turbo input? because one of the times i heard the noice i actually took it past 140 the noice stood at the same pitch and the pressure in the gauge stood the same throughout.

If it is a stock turbo w/o a boost controller, wastegate, or BOV it does stop putting out boost. The factory does that so that you dont overboost the poor gal. With that said the 3 aforsaid items discredit what I just said.
