My thoughts exactly. Lets hope that they finally got all the bugs worked out and it performs well!! Interesting that they are debuting it at a Tarmac Event. I wonder if the wicked rear suspnsion deflection is part of the reason?

The Acropolis is a super rough gravel event though (or it always had been, maybe they changed it this year).

I doubt it, that thing is a rally Pacman, especially in Loeb's hands. I bet the other teams will be watching with great interest though. Expect mechanical failures, handling issues and all the other stuff you'd expect from a brand new WRC car though.

Anyone notice that the perennial blue/yellow colour scheme is gone? That's a pretty bold (and odd) choice given how iconic it is.

i know a guy from lubrizol who has contacts in the citroen rally team on malcom smiths baja adventure i was on he tought i was loaded so when we talked rally cars and teh C4 he said he could get it for me in rally and tarmac spec with spares for $150,000 yes that is dollars and yes i would take out a mortage on that anyday

Yea, I thought Subaru was all about the hood scoop. It is their brand, along with Yellow on Blue. I guess the big changes they were talking about really are BIG changes. I still cannot wait to see this thing spewing gravel out of its rear end.

I just want to know if Subaru is taking a lot of their money out of rally or not. Colin said one year that he didn't compete because they just didn't have any money to spend on the sport that year. Rally is huge, I couldn't imagine how it would really be super expensive especially for Subaru to throw in a couple cars, some parts, a team, and a driver/codriver.

I find it really hard to believe they're not running a turbo. They couldn't use the H6 cos there are no (factory) H6 Imprezas, and squeezing 300hp from an NA 2.5 (or 2.0) seems extremely unlikely.

No bang-bang could just mean they had the anti-lag switched off. Still.. no scoop.. curious.

Definitely looking forward to seeing what this car can do. Would be nice to see more of a mix up in manufacturer championship other then Citroen and Ford. And this new car looks great but I want my Subaru hood scoop, world rally blue paint scheme with yellow swishy marks, and gold rims. And I want to race against red Evo's.

I was always under the impression that Greece was one of the toughest and roughest events in WRC, known for destroying suspensions especially? either swrt is really confident in their new car of utterly insane! You'd think they would want to debut the car at an event guaranteed to have some sort of success, but Greece just seems like it is set up for dissapointment. Here's hoping i'm wrong!

I think the new car does look badass, although I am a bit dissapointed about the new livery. It just seems too corporate and doesn't have the same tradition and agressivness as the swoosh had. Subaru is one of the few teams that have had constant livery throughout their history, so this seems kinda odd. Since the car is such a drastic change, it would have been nice to see some aspect (no matter how insignificant) of tradition. But looks mean nothing, if its on the podium they could paint it whatever they want imo.

On the other hand, the brand new Focus WRC '06 (when they switched body shapes) won its first rally (Monte Carlo 2006). And the C4 won on its first time out as well (Monte 2007). So it is possible...... it's just unlikely IMO.
