LOL... Got home from work, as I came onto my road it had ABSOLUTELY NO POWER...

Pull in the driveway and it wont rev up past 2krpm ? I'm friggen lost... Checked for vacuum leaks, and the exhaust seems to be flowng well , I also Pushed in on the drive-by-wire throttle plate, and it STILL only revs to 2000rpm http://www.unysoc.org/board/Smileys/alive/tongue.gif

I dunno if it has any NEW CELS, since my CEL is always on for rich condition... And I dont have a code reader... town is about 10 miles away, and @ 4-5mph I'll be a while getting to advance to use their scanner....

.....
30 minutes later
.....

Weird.. So I let the car set for a while after messing with it ( was typing my first post).. Went back out it started fine, reved up great....

drove it to advance and pulled the codes...

P1160 - Manufacture Fuel/Air Metering

Never heard of this one before...

Here is ALL I could find on nastyc0ck...

P1160...( only mod is K&N Typhoon Intake ) Dealer wants $2200 to replace throttle body, intercooler, throttle Control Assy...
heres my other story
Well all i got from the dealership was bad news...they pulled the code from CEL (P1160) and they saying that the problem is with my K&N Typhoon Intake because it was oiled excessivly and sucked oil through my throttle body and into my intercooler....well i couldnt believe this crap i only had intake for 2months no problems no CELs ....and as soon as i pickup my car from that stupid Kadels Body Shop thats when it started all...dealership ofcourse said they will not cover it under warranty and my insurance says that they will definatly investigate the body shop...like i said when i dropped of my car for repairs of my fender my car ran fine no CEL...and when i got it back from Kadels it was gagging and dealership showed me all excessive oil inbetween intercooler and throttle body and i dont think that oil from K&N filter can do that much damage in 2 months...so now dealership wants $2200 to replace my throttle body and intercooler and throttle control assy...what do you guys think?

I guess I am going to try cleaning everything? Including the maf?

I have all stock intake parts....

Does that sound right? I wasn't getting any responses on my local forum... Figured I would try it here.....

yep, clean the maf... takes about 5 minutes mostly just time waiting for it to dry... dont forget to do an ECU reset, and let it idle for 5minutes before you drive anywhere.

do you have any aftermarket senors? egt or AFR?

Only aftermarket parts on it @ the moment, are the STi Shortblock, Modified WRX injectors, plus a tune.... No sensors :-P

1) clean the MAF with CRC MAF cleaner. Note that the obvious bulb-sensor thing in the "MAF sensor" is actually the intake air temp sensor. The MAF sensor proper is hidden up in a little housing. One way to clean it is to spray a bunch of the cleaner into a ziploc bag, insert the MAF sensor, and do a shake and bake routine (And I Helped!).

2) Verify that the O-ring around the MAF sensor base is sealing properly to the MAF sensor housing (round tube you unscrewed the MAF sensor from).

3) Verify that the MAF sensor is in the correct orientation. There's a front and a back to it.

4) Veryify that the MAF sensor wiring harness is seated fully and that the contacts aren't corroded.
