2004 WRX
~380 bhp, ~350 flywheel tq
PPG trans
i want to use it as a DD mainly, then some playing in the dirt as well.

What do you think?! I am up in the air on this one..any/all input is welcome!....

stock! :-P

Much rather kill a Clutch than a trans...

I'm messing.. I don't know how much a PPG trans can take... But just remember something will always have to slip, if you have the power.. So if the tyres wont, something else will...

Those PPG gears can handle just about anything from what I hear... I want them sooo bad. But I have a stock trans, so I just put a stock clutch in when my last one started slipping.

With the PPG's I'd consider an Exedy twin for sure.

what happened to the lightened flywheel and clutchmasters that you had on the bugeye?

You can put a real bitey clutch in, but it would suck for a DD. I think some middle of the road aggressive clutch would be a good idea. I also tend to agree with Paris that if something going to slip, its better to let the clutch take it than the axles, or worse the tranny.

Trans shouldnt (god i hope not) be an issue, as it is at AndrewTech right now gettin a PPG 1-4 Straight Syncro setup. Rear diff is expendible...and axles are plentiful (i have ~2 FULL sets at my disposal right now)...just an idea though. I could use the CM setup, orrrrr i was thinking twin/triple disc?!

you know i have had two exedy twin discs and loved them, the evo drove like butter with them, kinda a PITA in stop and slow traffic

if u want to fork out 1400 something go with the twin, if not exedy stage 1 stock replacement

just as a note twin disc clutches rattle but you get used to it pretty fast... i only noticed if i was driving next to a wall or something like that.
