I was invited over here by 409industries from IWSTI (another excellent Subi site.)

I like to get my STi DIRTYDIRTYDIRTY!!!! It shows.

Here are a couple of links to her in all of her mud covered, sand driving and snow fun glory.

I hope you all enjoy and thank you for having me in yourcommunity.

Glad to see someone else knows the OBX!! I am moving to NC this summer and plan to take the subie out to the beech. How was it getting through the first 200 feet where they rough the sand up?

on the sand is awesome!!! Nice car you got there, Id love to tear up the beach all day, then kick back in a beach chair and chill out. The perfect combo!

Thanks to all.

In answer to your question, its all about momentum and NOT riding in the grooves created by trucks with much more clearance than our Subis. Ride on the patches of smooth sand, you basically "float" over the sand as long as you keep up your momentum. Stay towards the waterline, WATCH OUT FOR STUMPS!!!!!!! There are PLENTY of them near the waterline. But, most of all, dont bother going in summer, way to crowded and you WILL get stuck and laughed at. Go in winter when its only locals.

All good advice! I might try driving on sand for my first time later this year. In california theres a few spots to do this. I always dream of wide open beaches to drive on like they do in Top Gear when they visit Wales... looks like so much fun!

How much do you airdown your tires?
