I think it would be a good idea to split the off-road news discussion into Rally-America events, WRC events, CARS events, etc. It would be easier to navigate and much less cluttered.

Suggestions, comments, ideas?

Yes, but do we have to limit it to just Subaru competitors? It should be complete event coverage. Most of us are interested in Rallying as a whole not just the top placing Suby.

we could have a WRC section and a SWRT section. we don't need a forum for each manufacturer being that we're a subie forum.

Exactly. There are already "Full Rally Coverage" websites out there. We focus primarly on events and articles that feature subaru imprezas.

I'm thinking the news breakdown is a good idea. The reason we only have WRC and RA stuff is because thats what i can find and legally repost on our site. Does anyone have any other sources we can use too?

No you don't understand. Its lame that you only report where a Suby finishes. I'm just saying, that when you have event coverage of a RA or WRC its full event coverage. Not a separate forum for each Manufacture. Its a very one sided view of the world isn't? Yeah Cris Ackinson finished second in WRC Mexico, but who won it? I have to go somewhere else for info? There is a complex battle that goes on in WRC. I'm a Suby enthusiast, but also a WRC enthusiast. I guess I have to go somewhere else for that news. You should just get rid of the Off road news section all together then. I mean it doesn't even have coverage of the other top Subaru drivers in America, theres no coverage of Andrew Pinker or Tanner Foust or Pat Richard in Canada. Suby Elitists, tisk tisk tisk.

i understand fully what you meant. that's why i suggested having a WRC thread and perhaps a separate SWRT thread. the off road news sections HAS news regarding foust and pinker also. you may wanna take a closer look dude. i know cuz' i went through all of'em last night and moved'em into the proper threads. go to "rally/off-road news" and click the Rally America thread. you'll see'em in there.

we have a WRC thread, a RA thread and then just the general forum for non-wrc and non-ra related off road news such as the independent rallies that go on from time to time like Team O'Neil rally and what-not.

Holy cow that was a quick implementation. Flipping awesome.

It would be nice to have information about all manufacturers, but to have in-depth coverage for each would be...overwhelming in terms of gathering all the results from WRC.com or manufacturers websites, or so it would seem.

I'm sure WRC provides articles that are Event coverage. Not just Subaru specific. SubieSport runs WRC articles every mag and only shows pics of Subarus but reports the whole event. I'm sure they don't write this and just buy it premade from WRC, just like newspapers buy stories from the Associated Press.

Drew, i hear ya, it would be awesome to have every manufacturer in all the sanctioning bodies covered here! I mean, i wish we had more coverage of even P-WRC, let alone all the international rally circuits that Subaru participates in...

It boils down to time. I take time out of my (work)day to report whats updated on the SWRT media site on the DI main page and in turn linked into the forums. The same thing is done for RA news (its whatever press releases are current)

If someone wants to step up and become full time DI news correspondent, then i will be more than happy to train someone how to post on the website and forums for a more all encompassing view of WRC, RA, etc. Until that happens though, were going to have posted either what our members find, or what i get in what little spare time i have during the day.
