I just need a way to adhere the tread to the wheel.

I was driving on I-70 and the car started to vibrate pretty bad so I slowed down to about 50 mph. Then the tires just blew and the tread seperated from the sidewalls. When it blew it also nearly knocked my mud flap off and it bent some sheet metal. Nothing a hammer and a screwdriver didn't fix. Luckily I have a couple spare RE92's laying around until my tires get here in a few days.

sounds similar to when the front end of my passenger side front fender liner came loose. As i drove down the freeway a big gust of wind forced the front part of the fenderline under the front tire, ripping all of it out the back in 1/2 a second! it scared the crap out of me, but my mudflap even stayed on!

Wow... I'm impressed. Crappy tires indeed. I think a lawsuit is in order..

I had my left front inner fender do the same thing. I ran over it on the highway and it ripped it out.

Sounds like a Subaru design flaw. Those plastic clips are no match for strong headwinds!
