OK i have a question about my clutch, its nothing major but it annoy's the hell outta me :pissed:.
Everytime i drive my RS, after about 15 minutes of driving the clutch starts to feel progressivley loose like there is a lot of play in the pedal. this only happens when im driving around town or in traffic so im using the clutch a lot. I bought the RS last october and the guy i bought it from had the clutch replaced recently at that time. When it happens i have to really press the clutch in far, not quite to the floor, but it makes shifting smoothly impossible. when i drive i usually downshift a lot but that shouldnt affect it right?
Anyone know why this is happening?
ways to fix it?

You probably would have to replace the clutch cover.

really? how does the clutch cover affect the clutch performance? (curious, not challenging you)

my Legacy has gotten to the point where i have to put the clutch all the way to the floor, both before and after my clutch replacement, so i thought i probably needed some SS clutch lines to replace the old rubber ones that came with the car.

The clutch cover is the spring that forces the clutch against the flywheel. So the spring rate and amount of wear will affect clutch position.

but that doesn't come as part of a clutch replacement kit? it sounds like something you'd want to replace at the same time.

now i'm wondering what is causing the biggest issue with my clutch, and i want to fix that before replacing/fixing my tranny.

I understand the clutch cover and the spring. but like i said this only happens when im in traffic or around town, in instances where clutch usage is at its max and only after 15 minutes of driving in like conditions. I dont think it is a wear issue since the clutch feels fine for those 15 minutes. could it possibly have something to do with my hose lines?

Maybe the guy you bought it from just had the clutch disc itself replaced, not the pressure plate or anything like that... I don't know why, just a thought. You might need a new pressure plate. Or the hoses might be causing it.
