I am just wondering if a WRX/Sti scoop is going to fit on my 2000 Rs. I am looking to do a swap and swap the scoop while I am at it.

you could order one from JAPAN, off of a JDM GC STi like subie88 has, i dunno on a cost, but that would work with no modifications, and it is HUGE!!!!! *remember, it does swallow civics though*

I just tried to put a 04 WRX scoop on my 99 OBS a couple months ago when I painted it and it is way off. You would need to do some cutting and welding. Ebay has STi scoops that would fit and I believe HT AUTO may have some genuine ones.

JDM GC8 STi and USDM RS/OBS scoops are the same thing.
Only way to get a bigger scoop is aftermarket.

Thats what I was thinking. I dont want anything that could swallow a small child. I just want alittle bigger.

No he is my child now. I am going to make him sew cloths in a factory for 5 cents an hour/16 hour days. Muhahahaha

No, you cannot keep Gorge-Juan-Gonzales-Phillipe. He must migrate back to Mexico now...

Don't do it! :( The stock scoop looks best on the GC/GF! :)

I agree with the fact that oem looks best but being swapped and having had both, the huge one works a ton better for the tmic. Logging proves it. I rock the cf child swallower myself.

That's true, Child aero of any sort is baller. ^^;;
I think if I had a turbo motor in my car, if I wanted more intercooler performance, I'd either just increase the size with an aftermarket or STi one or I'd just go front mount and keep the scoop (although I know it's "cool" to get a reverse scoop, then... but I like my scoop. :)

Well I can tell you what I have done and the results. When I first swapped I had to have the fmic cause it's pimp shxt. I soon realized that running 20lbs was not reason enough to deal with the extra lag and the fact I would soon ruin the fmic in the woods. I put a usdm wrx tmic on and was scared watching the iat,s in my logging. I then put a v7 sti tmic on and liked how much more consistant the iat stayed but wanted to see it lowered. The child swallowing scoop showed up and I am happy now. The fmic hardly outdid my current set up and surely spoiled spool.
In conclusion, child swallower scoop + n/a = ugly and rice for no reason.
child swallowing scoop + boost = function before beauty.

And that is why I am considering the scoop just for the reason that I will be boosted.
