I know not a lot of STi owners race on the 1/4 but some do anyway, so here's some launching tips I learned and practiced on my own a few times. They work really well! I have also seen a .5 drop in 1/4 mile time from these techniques too.
Switch DCCD to full rear and warm up your rear tires in the water pit.
Roll up to the light tree, keep your DCCD still in full rear.
Shift into first gear, hold the clutch in and blip the throttle repeatedly up to 5-6k rpms to get the turbo spooled up. Keep doing this up to the countdown, KEEP DOING IT.
When the light hits green, FLOOR the throttle (ideal RPM to launch at is 7k) and lift your foot off the clutch like it was stuck to tar. The idea is to let the clutch engage as quickly as possible so it doesn't get stripped by the horsepower of the STi.
You'll be off like a bat out of hell. Just hang on in there. It depends, but there might be some fishtailing (just keep the steering straight).
Slam throughout the gears up to about 4th/5th and you'll be at the end of the 1/4 mile.
Congratulations, enjoy your low 13's timeslip on a stock STi. :)
