Day one:

auction fresh! $500
Sold the wheels that day for $200
I've had quite a few of these things since my first back in 2001. I have yet to be without at least one dsm since that day.
That's to say, I have parts stacked through the roof. It was time for a different spin on a dsm builds. I knew where this was going before I even bought it.
Once it was home, I started on this ridiculous idea I had buzzing around in my head.

http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm169/15psi88/IMAG0160.jpg
(this still isn't finished)
Next up, a little truck bed coating, Jeep wheels to hold it up, oh yeah, and a home brew lift. Welded up some plates to fit between the strut and the strut towers for the front. For the rear I got to re-use some old Galant vr4 springs, which gave me 1.5" or better.

Next up wheels and tires. I knew what I wanted.

My heart said yes but my wallet said GTFO.
Weeks of searching online went by before I went to see some buddies at the local salvage yard. They let me snoop around their wheelhouse. There must have been literally over 5000 wheels in this place. Racks of wheels as far as the eye could see(almost).

$100 for the set, close enough.
Textured with a white top coat:

New 215/70/15 Winterforce
$319 installed

http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm169/15psi88/one-1.jpg
Re-purposed old ranger mudflaps at this time.
Next up, the bike rack I had was bolted through the roof skin into the support below. With the leverage the bike had being up that tall it wasn't enough though. I trimmed a piece of flat stock, drilled it full of holes and welded it on. That'll take care of that!

Rear wiper delete:

Now, somehow I had managed to have enough stuff laying around to complete a 3" stainless turboback. I needed a muffler though. I didn't want to buy one. Because smart.
I acquired this muffler from a quad at some point. (I've never owned a quad)
A little cut cut, weld weld, reuse the same packing. Badabing 3" straight through muffler.

http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm169/15psi88/IMAG0484.jpg
Time for some proper maintenance. I replaced timing belt, tensioners/idlers, waterpump, radiator, tstat, hoses, alternator, belts, etc etc. with parts I had, all gently used, minus the waterpump. That puppy cost me 42 bucks new. While I was in there I ripped out everything that got in my way.

http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm169/15psi88/IMAG0533.jpg
Moved the battery to the trunk too. Shedding 100+ lbs off the nose? Priceless
http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm169/15psi88/IMAG0528.jpg
Time to see how it performs. (like a boss)

After this day, I realized something.
Factory sealed beams suck, almost as bad as the windshield washers.
I took an old fuel pump, and a pressure washer nozzle...
It'll take this:

to this, in one sweep:
http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm169/15psi88/wipers2.jpg
PO did a headliner delete?? Unfortunately that's not something I had laying around. I did however have some dynamat.
http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm169/15psi88/roof1.jpg
Sound in the cabin will still make your ears bleed but it's a controllable bleed now.
Worked on some lights since the roof mount is on the back burner. My favorite part, I used the once forgotten rear wiper switch to energize the relay for the lights.:cuckoo:

http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm169/15psi88/yep1.jpg
http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm169/15psi88/yep3.jpg
That about does it for now.
Next up, a top mount intercooler with a custom hood. I have a section of hood with a spare bulge that is usually over the cam gears. I plan to cut it in half (perpendicular)to use it as a scoop to feed the top mount.
Sometime before spring I'd also like to fab up a tow hitch so I can pull the jetskis/trackbike around.
Enjoy boys. I'm not done yet!
