So I finally went drifting for the first time on Monday afternoon. I took my 12 year old niece along for the ride, she was scared at first as was I but I got over it quick since I kinda new was I was doing from watching my bf drift last week, but my niece on the other hand was screaming till she realized what I was doing she loved it, and wanted more but I was in a very small parking lot, so it wasn't done too easily. I did manage however to get my car to slide side ways a few time but only for a few moments. It was awesome can't wait to go do more. :headbang:

Thats pretty awesome (so long as you're not hitting anything with kids in the car) :) Probably best to find a really big parking lot if you're still learning how to control your car when its sideways...
Welcome to DI!

Something about seeing a Subaru wearing a white blanket. It makes me feel all warm and happy inside.
Large empty parking lots are good for practice; learning how to control your car in adverse conditions is something that I wish everyone would do. We Subaru owners have the advantage of being able to point the wheels where we want to go and giving it some gas. AWD is a beautiful thing when used properly.

Agreed! the only places with snow out here in california (well at least near me) are very tight and theres no wide open spaces to cut loose on the slippery white stuff.
Enjoy it! Ill be in utah in less than 2 months snowboarding :)

Yeah parking lots are a lot of fun, but I had fun drifting onto the freeway yesterday not by choice of course it was sunny and bright and blowing snow but hey I was able to keep it in control. If I hadn't watch my BF drifted a few time and done it myself I would have freaked out, I am actually learning to like driving in the snow in my suby. I'm so glad I bought it!

See to me that is the best part about playing around in a parking lot or open field, you know your car. The fact that it started to slide and not only did you not panic but you controlled it and even enjoyed it is why I think they should make that mandatory on a driving test. When people know the limits and capabilities of their vehicle it makes them much safer drivers.
Glad to here you are happy with your purchase, I'm sure you'll find over time that you enjoy your car more and more.
And make your BF go out with you sometime and take some pictures of you tearing it up.

UT local FTW!!! Its good to see another local on the DI forums!
And Berg, I went out to Areganite last week and it is prime rally roads! Its only about 45-60 minutes away and miles of slick smooth dirt roads! (Sorry about the thread jack!)
Lets get some more pics!!!
