OK. I have done a bunch of searches but not coming up with anything solid.
For a race car build, looking to delete entire Immobilizer system from the car. It is a 05 STI.
Anybody know what wires need to be spliced together to do this?

hunted around a bit, don't have time right now for much more.
doesn't appear to be a wire splicing job. Likely need to remove the hooks in the 05 ECU that look for the codes and compare them to the other modules in the car. Haven't found anyone doing that yet.
There's a few 05+ Sti's on here that race (like carl, the zip tie guys) might be worth seeing what they did for an immobilizer defeat or if they had any issues with it.

just wondering what others have done without going to a full ECU swap. Pretty sure Carl is running a GEMS ECU. not sure what others are doing.

He does, but I think he ran for a while with the stock one.. worth a shot. Might have just left it active and hoped for the best.
I'd guess it would be possible to hack a rom so it doesn't check, but I haven't found any like that yet.

You'll have a hard time finding someone to tell you the answer to your question because that's the info people need to steal the immobilized cars. I can tell you this though, the ecu is just waiting for an electronic signal that is basically an ok. You can duplicate that signal and be good to go, but good luck finding out what and where it is.
You really should just swap to an 04 ecu, it would make life a lot easier. If you need help finding an ecu, pm me..

So if I switch to an 04 ecu I should be able to eliminate all the security in the car. Does anybody know the pinout differences?

Well one solution is to just keep a key with the chip in it stored in the car. If I remember correctly its the way people get around this for turbo timers.

you don't need to use the immobilizer key in the ignition; it just needs to be close by. so, if you just mount it in an out of the way place where it is close enough to be read, you can use any other start mechanism for your ignition. I'd think that would be easier than changing out your ECU unless you are having a custom wiring harness made anyway.

I am probably going to have leave the system in until i get a diffrent ECU but it would be nice to take it out and not worry about it.
What i am doing is a wire diet of the main harness under the dash. Removing all wires that are no longer used. Radio, ABS, SRS etc etc.

The answer you are looking for is available but should not be posted online for obvious reasons.
Personally I would say either swap the ecu or do what others have done.
Cut out the piece in the key and duct tape it to the column.
Maybe contact those people through PM's

So who has done something like this?
