I just joined about 10min. ago and am Bri's (anaonbd) girlfriend. I have a 02 Impreza RS, and he's going to teach me how to drift, probably by suddenly grabbing the E brake while I'm driving in the snow.

nicest way to learn is in the snow in a giant parking lot

somehow i doubt i'm going to grab the P brake, but i'll probably just maybe umm tell her to rip it when she's going in a parking lot somewhere, have 2 teach her 2 drift before i can teach her RallyX.

Welcome to the boards!! Glad to have you.
Go easy on the center diff!! You can get the car sideways without the ebrake!!

wow harsh! jk thats why u throw it in neutral...pull e brake...get it going sideways...; then put her in gear lol jk
Takes too long!
And the center diff will still suffer. I used to yank on the ebrake more often than I should have... but I hit the clutch while doing so. Still not good for the center diff.
But thats why we have the scandinavian flick :D

Welcome RSdrift-princess
Ripping the E-brake can be useful in getting the tail out but I would not recomend doing so on a regular basis. Your center diff tends to get angry about that. The guys with the 05 and older STi's a/o tranny's are spoiled and can rip that handle whenever they want. The rest of us are stuck learning to drift the right/hard way.
If my wheezing little OBS can go all Formula D in a snow covered parking lot then your RS shouldn't have any problems. Once you learn the techniques used to drift then you will still have the e-brake available for real emergencies.
No matter what though have fun, be safe, keep it dirty and good luck.
