Realized after my rollover my "X" type tire iron doesn't fit my lug nuts, in that the socket isn't deep enough to pass the ARP studs. I was hoping to find a combo breaker bar speedy handle thingy, but have only found one or the other.

Any thoughts?

This is just back up to my cordless impact.

Well honestly I think a breaker bar and socket would do just fine. A 16" would work fine I'd think. As long as the lugs are maintained well and you don't let the studs rust, then I don't see the problem of just straightening the breaker bar out and spinning it straight. Cause that's what I do, since I have spline lugs on my motegi 107's

It may be fine & probably what I end up with, but I like the speed of the offset speedy...

I think rally teams actually carry a battery powered impact gun. Maybe that?

In addition to the impact I carry a ratcheting breaker bar with a deepwell socket on it

Yea saw that after the fact.:flamed

But reading the other thread about jacks...
Just weld a deep socket onto the cross.

i'm really 99% serious when I ask this. Isn't a ratcheting breaker bar kind of an oxymoron? I always thought what made a breaker bar was that it was extra strong because it doesn't ratchet. Am I mistaken and breaker bar just means big ass bar, whether it ratchets or not?

you are correct. in the strictest sense, a breaker bar shouldn't ratchet.

Ratchet would be to slow for me, again this is assuming my cordless impact has failed, The traditional "X" type would be fine with a welded deep socket because you can spin it. But I'm also trying to minimize stuff and weight.

Considering this:

But would be extra cool with an offset handle like the speeder. (http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=hand&item_ID=2898&group_ID=350&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog).

a matter of semantics. That's what it's sold as, that's what I call it

(I also carry a 1/2" speeder)

i like the flex head ratchets myself. used them a lot when i worked roadside assistance at a benz dealer. you can sort of use it like a speeder and after a while, i was just as fast as a cordless impact taking off and putting on a wheel start to finish.

the craftsman one works pretty good, but i liked this one since the handle was rounded and had a nice feel to it, but its almost $100 more than the crafstman.
