I've been averaging 27-28mpg in my 2008 obs. I filled up the other day, and i've been getting 24mpg since then. I haven't touched anything else. I'll likely have the dealer look at it, (I was going to take it in for a couple other issues anyway while I still have the warranty) but before I take it in, is there anything I can troubleshoot on my own?

Clogged Injectors? I dunno how quickly you plan on making it into the dealer, but you might try the Lucas Injector Cleaner on the next fillup.

I may be wrong though. anyone else?

How is your tire pressure?

Air filter clean?

When did you last change your spark plugs?

Also, by any chance do you think you could have put the wrong grade fuel in? I know some gas stations in my area move the regular button to where most other gas stations have premium.

I did make certain I used regular fuel. I've grabbed the wrong one before, so I do check that. The 30K service was last month, so the spark plugs are brand spanking new. I can look into the tire pressure and air filter today. I don't remember when I last checked those, but it hasn't been all that long.

I think I may have a bottle of injector cleaner somewhere. I'll toss that in this week.

Could be as simple as a loose inner fender too. I know mine came off after a fox ran into the interstate and my mpg dropped by 7 instantly.

Winter gas blend? I get 28-29mpg in my WRX in the summer, then it drops to 24-25 in the winter when they switch blends.

I second the remark: That's Crazy!

Haha IDK. It probably had something else wrong, but hell idk. Replaced the inner fender and mpg went back to normal. Puzzling at best.
