I currently drive a 1998 Toyota Tacoma, but I am throwing around the idea of buying an Impreza. I'm typically driving on steep and rocky fire roads filled with puddles not more than three inches deep. The off roading that I do is on trails that a stock Jeep Wrangler could handle, so I'm debating whether or not an Impreza could tackle the trails? I've seen a few Subarus offroading before, but they were mostly the older wagons. Thanks.

You will be just fine with an Impreza, though I wouldn't get an 08' Check out my wagon below. Its my daily driver and its an 06' I was once a truck guy but love the capability of the Suby's!!

An impreza could easily handle those road, just get a skidplate and a rear differential protector and you're set! (You might even conside a small lift too)

Welcome to the boards, you really can't go wrong with a subie. If you think an impreza is too low you can always consider a Forestor or Outback, but the Impreza really would be ideal for those roads.
