I was cruising the web recently (working) and came across this site: RaceImage.com. They have lightly used and some new fire suits that come from Nascar. Most are SFI 3-2a/5 or Fia homologated suits. Some are pretty cheap if you don't mind having it say VIAGRA on the front or Wonder bread. Anyway they have some top of the line stuff for cheap. If your in the market and pinching pennies might be worth a look b/c not much comes up on SS.

that is a damned good deal...I got mine used for $750. Hell, you could buy those at that price and sell them on ebay and make a few $$$.

Anybody bought a suit from these guys? They have a bunch in sizes that would fit me, for pretty cheap.
Also, is there any issue with removing patches, not embroidery, from suits? I couldn't really find much when searching, but it seems like if the stitching is just on the top layer it really shouldn't be an issue.

I ended up getting a sparco suit on ebay- also with a bunch of embroidery and a few patches. I know when you sew them on you have to use nomex thread. I don't think removing a few threads is going to create any kind of real opening in the suit ( for patches). Last time I checked the nasa rules it said it has to be one piece and free of holes and tears. Doubt a thread hole will even show up.

I've seen HANS going for as little as $355 on Ebay, most around $500.
As for the suits, I love the deal I got on my suit, 350 euros.

Thank you Mr. Elena
BTW, if anyone would be interested in bidding on something at the WRC Spain event Richard Burns Foundation auction, let me know.

Isn't that the one that my Akita based launch control system tried to disable?

I was just lucky the Chinese lady didn't bid against me, like she did the year before for Sebastien Loebs driving gloves.
I'd let you try out the suit, but it's just my size.
